This relativistic, time-travel spacetime is everywhere metrically flat, excepting a conical singularity. Observers following timelike geodesics can eventually encounter their past selves, aging in the opposite time sense. The spacetime is not time orientable.

“A conical singularity is unlike more familiar curvature singularities,” said Norton. “No matter how close you come to the singularity in this spacetime, the spacetime geometry remains flat and regular with no indication locally of something pathological.”

A spaceship, traveling in a well-behaved region of spacetime, might then encounter this singularity and find its timelike geodesic to be deflected into its past. It would then return to the earlier, well-behaved region of spacetime and the spaceship occupants would encounter their past selves aging in the opposite time sense.

The author anticipates this model being a useful tool for teaching technical aspects of relativity theory.

“The full geometry of this spacetime model can be recovered using rather simple methods,” said Norton. “In addition to seeing the nature of the conical singularity, the analysis requires that students treat spacetime coordinates with extreme care, since they do not have their usual default physical meanings.”

These will be a series of informal (for now) posts about the current state of Revolt as compared to Discord. For many, Revolt is the best 1-to-1 replacement for Discord, however, a number of features have not yet been implemented.

This lack of particular features may prevent certain users and groups (myself included) from fully transitioning over to Revolt. The hope is that some day soon Revolt has enough feature parity to make the switch from Discord and easy choice.

Missing Features

List is incomplete because I have only just started using Revolt myself.

  • Video chat (?) (Need to confirm)
  • Voice chat on Android (iOS works I believe)
  • Screen sharing

Minor features (need to confirm some)

  • Server folders
  • Embedded polls
  • A few formatting methods
  • Stickers
  • Soundboard
  • Invite limits
  • Channel following
  • Apps
  • Inactive voice channel
  • Community servers
  • Onboarding
  • Server insights
  • Server templates
  • TikTok integration
  • Removing embeds

Quick Links

For Users

Revolt is an open source chat website/program/app. While the project doesn't say it out loud, Revolt is designed as a replacement for Discord. It has many (but not yet all) of the features present in Discord.

Revolt has a web app, desktop programs, as well as mobile apps.

For Developers

I'm not much of a developer myself, so I'll leave some of the links here.

Here's the official GitHub repository

Full Revolt developer documentation here.

sausage is a terminal word forming game, written in Bash.

This game was inspired by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bookworm_(video_game).

https://gitlab.com/christosangel/sausage/-/raw/main/screenshots/word1.png

The aim is to score points by creating words, moving around in six directions in the grid, using consecutive letters.

When the user created longer words, coloured letters appear. The user can score more points by using these coloured letters.

More points can also be scored, when the user manages to create the bonus words.

When smaller words are created, or low point yielding words, red letters appear in the grid. If not used, these red letters will drop one cell in every turn.

When a red letter reaches beyond the bottom of the grid, the game is over.

The user can also reshuffle the letters in the grid, in order to be able to create words. However, there is a price to this action: the existing red letters will drop one cell, all other bonus coloured letters will be lost, and more red letters will appear.

If the score is among the 10 best scores achieved, it makes it in the Top Ten Highscores.

Second batch I grew from a store bought kombucha. First was too sour by the time the pellicle grew so I just used it for starter.

Used raspberries + mint for 2F, came out way better than I ever expected. Promised to post here when I did my first ever brew! Thank you all for motivating me with all your pictures. :)

These are some tostadas I made with ground beef

First I smother sour cream on the tostadas

Here they are with ground beef and cotija cheese

Then I top them with some cabbage mix

For the cabbage I basically get a bowl and pour some white vinegar, chop some onion and jalapeño or serrano and squeeze some lemon juice and let it sit a bit to flavor the vinegar.

Then I shred some cabbage and toss in some tomato, salt pepper and oregano and mix it all around and put it on the tostadas.
Then if we have some avocados we toss some on top and pour valentina or tapatio

during the sketch show’s goodnights, Myers’ slogan tee — unveiled after he unzipped his vest — was accompanied by the actor mouthing “elbows up,” a reference to Canadian hockey icon Gordie Howe’s slogan toward aggressive opponents on the ice.

“Fascism doesn’t like to be ridiculed; it likes to be feared,” he concluded. “Satire is an important tool in the toolbox to say that this is not normal — that the cuts [Elmo]’s making are not normal.”

I’ll start:

Idaho - when people think “racism in the United States” their minds go to the Deep South. The Deep South is absolutely pretty bad, and there’s of course the whole history with the confederacy so it makes sense that’s what we think of, but Idaho is let off the hook way too much given that it’s a hotbed of Nazis and Christian nationalists trying to form a white ethnostate. Idaho needs to be more closely linked to virulent racism like the Deep South currently is. And tbh I’ve been to the Deep South, I like it down there, it’s actually pretty diverse in many areas, if I had to live there it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. You couldn’t pay me to set foot in Idaho.

Gen X - look, if we’re gonna do generational warfare gen x needs a lot more hate. Sorry to any xers out there but boomers have been punching bags for a while, millenials are starting to get a good amount of hate, and they’ve always been made fun of for their Harry Potter and office love, tbh a lot of millennial shit is just considered cringe these days, gen z obviously gets all the “ugh what’s wrong with the youth” hate and this new media cycle has them being portrayed as pretty much the new hitler youth. Gen x needs to start getting some more hate, especially now with all these weird gen x venture capitalists influencing the trump admin trying to realize their vision of a neo fascist network state
