An American citizen born and raised in California is unsettled after receiving an e-mail from the US Department of Homeland Security ordering him to leave the country "immediately."

Aldo Martinez-Gomez received the DHS notice on April 11, threatening "criminal prosecution" and fines if he does not depart within seven days.

Martinez-Gomez works full-time assisting immigrants in court for a non-profit and believes his advocacy work may have placed him on the government's radar.

Yesterday evening, Tesla reported first-quarter earnings for 2025, and they were abysmal: Profits dropped 71% from the same time last year.

Musk sounded bitter on the call with investors that followed, blaming the company’s misfortune on protesters who have raged at Tesla dealerships around the world over his role running DOGE and his ardent support of far-right politicians.

“The protests that you’ll see out there, they’re very organized. They’re paid for,” he said, without evidence.

The administration is quietly putting America’s children at risk by cutting funds and manpower for investigating child abuse, enforcing child support payments, providing child care and much more.

This year, I gave 10 euros to Libre Office

I gave 5 euros to VLC

I gave 5 euros to Qbittorent

They are doing fantastic work. Millions of people around are using these software. Free. Open source code. No advertising bullshit.

I come from a low-income country. Europeans can afford to give much more.

Last year, the CEO of Adobe earned 40 million dollars. He only travels in an armored SUV with bodyguards. He has been described as ''completely obsessed'' about money and power. If he could get away with it, he would probably murder open source developers to send a message.

With extremely limited ressources, Inkscape, Krita, Gimp, Kdenlive are doing fantastic work, offering free alternatives.

Are you happy that people and companies in your country are wiring their money to Microsoft for the privilege to use Microsoft Office ?

Are you happy that people and companies in your country are wiring money to Adobe for the privilege to use Premiere Pro or Photoshop ?

I'm not. Please support open source software developers.

You don't have to donate fortunes. Just adopt 1 software.

If I can do it, so can you.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of him in some way. I always go outside and visit his grave. I miss him a lot and I don't think I'm ready to get a new cat yet, I still want him and I'd just be looking for another Wolfie.

Miss you my little peanut head.

"Mark Etkind, co-organiser of a network of “#Holocaust survivors and descendants against the Gaza genocide”, whose members have regularly attended pro-#Palestinian protests in London, said it was imperative too for campaigners in the #UK to keep up pressure on the #British government to end its support for Israel and to halt arms exports to the country.

“There’s just an absolutely massive burden of responsibility on everyone, especially those of us with a Holocaust survivor background, to speak out. I can’t think of a better commemoration for the six million,” said Etkind."

Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s wife says she fears for her safety since the Trump administration deported him to a prison in El Salvador.

The wife of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador by the Trump administration, was forced to move to a safe house with her children, after the government posted their home address to social media.

White House officials have spent weeks trying to justify their deportation of Abrego Garcia, even after admitting in court that sending him to El Salvador was an “administrative error,” claiming with no evidence that he is a violent criminal and gang member.

At one point, the Department of Homeland Security posted online an order of protection that Jennifer Vasquez Sura had sought, but later abandoned, against her husband. That order contained Vasquez Sura’s home address, unredacted.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth recently ordered modifications to a room next to the Pentagon press briefing room to retrofit it with a makeup studio that can be used to prepare for television appearances, multiple sources told CBS News.

The price tag for the project was several thousand dollars, according to two of the sources, at a time when the administration is searching for cost-cutting measures.

  • The New York State Police have quietly built a database of over 5,000 alleged gang members using speculative criteria like tattoos, clothing, and associations.
  • Governor Kathy Hochul has said the State Police, which she controls, won't cooperate with President Trump's mass deportation campaign — yet the agency funnels the gang database into a federal system that makes it instantly available to ICE.
  • The Trump administration is carrying out extrajudicial mass deportations of immigrants with alleged gang ties — justified, in cases like Kilmar Abrego Garcia's, by gang databases maintained by local police departments.
