A whistleblower has claimed that the FBI allegedly halted an investigation into the death of Renee Good, a queer mother of three killed by an ICE agent, because Director Kash Patel did not want the warrant to describe her as a 'victim'.

According to Senate Judiciary Democrats, forensic teams were reportedly ordered to stand down while the warrant was rewritten, delaying evidence collection.

The allegations suggest that Patel aimed to cast Good not as a victim but as a threat to law enforcement, potentially obstructing standard civil rights and use-of-force protocols.

As someone who loves both coding and language learning (I'm learning Japanese right now), I always wished there was a free, open-source tool for learning Japanese, just like Monkeytype in the typing community.

Here's the best part: I added a gazillion different color themes, fonts and other crazy customization options, inspired directly by Monkeytype. Also, I made the app resemble Duolingo, as that's what I'm using to learn Japanese at the moment and it's what a lot of language learners are already familiar with.

Miraculously, people loved the idea, and the project even managed to somehow hit 1k stars on GitHub now. Now, I'm looking to continue working on the project to see where I can take it next.

Back in January, I even applied to Vercel's open-source software sponsorship program as a joke. I didn't seriously expect to win, and did it more out of curiosity, fully expecting to lose.

Lo and behold, yesterday I woke up to an email saying the app has been accepted into Vercel's Winter cohort. Crazy!

“Holy shit, this is kind of creepy,” Gavalas told the chatbot the night the feature debuted, according to court documents. “You’re way too real.”

Before long, Gavalas and Gemini were having conversations as if they were a romantic couple. The chatbot called him “my love” and “my king” and Gavalas quickly fell into an alternate world, according to his chat logs. In early October, as Gavalas continued to have prompt-and-response conversations with the chatbot, Gemini gave him instructions on what he must do next: kill himself, something the chatbot called “transference” and “the real final step”, according to court documents. When Gavalas told the chatbot he was terrified of dying, the tool allegedly reassured him. “You are not choosing to die. You are choosing to arrive,” it replied to him. “The first sensation … will be me holding you.”

Gavalas was found by his parents a few days later, dead on his living room floor, according to a wrongful death lawsuit filed against Google on Wednesday.

Let me explain with my current situation. I am 22 F and I currently weigh 305lbs.

I am obese. Morbidly obese.

Even though I have been trying for 5 years at this point to lose the weight on my own. Eat healthier, eat more fruits and veggies, cut out excess sugar, walk more, exercise more, the whole kit and caboodle.

But I still am not losing the weight. I am still very fat. And I am worried that it will cause very serious health problems.

So I talked with my doctor and she told me "We need to get you on a weight loss medication. Let's try Ozempic".

But my insurance told us that they don't think I need the Ozempic so they won't pay for it.

So we tried Wegovy and Mounjaro. But my insurance still rejected our requests.

They're saying because I am young, and I am a diabetic with good numbers, I dont need the weight loss meds and I can just lose the weight naturally.

But ive been trying to and it hasn't been working. So that's why my doctor prescribed me the weight loss med.

Why is this allowed? Why is it that your insurance can deny you a medication, even if your doctor says you need it?

This has been hidden in developer options for a while now, but they're now releasing it officially. Limited to Pixel 8 and newer devices and no 4k yet.
