Der erste CSD in diesem Jahr endet mit einem politischen Eklat. Auf Anweisung des Ordnungsamts musste das Straßenfest vier Stunden früher als genehmigt beendet werden. Offenbar war es der Behörde nicht politisch genug.

Google is somehow the only company that is able to completely ruin a calculator app. Even before installing, Google outs themselves with how much data they collect:

  • App info and performance: Crash logs and Diagnostics
  • Personal info: Email address
  • Device or other IDs
  • App activity: App interactions

And of course the encouraging message:

Data can’t be deleted

The developer doesn’t provide a way for you to request that your data be deleted

As soon as you try to install it, the app requests network access. I'm glad to be using GrapheneOS where this can be restricted.

The app doesn't crash on launch, which is a new concept for Google, since most of their apps won't even start without Google Play Services installed. Maybe that means the calculator app can calculate 1+1 without requiring installing the most invasive software known to man, right?

Of course it can't. It crashes the moment you press the plus sign. Thank you, Google, for requiring Google Play Services for your calculator app to do basic addition. You know what calculator doesn't require Google Play services to do math?

In all seriousness, OpenCalc is a near 1:1 match to Google Calculator, so I suggest anyone use that instead.

The cherry on top is Google's calculator app is bundled with a privacy policy, which on its own is a treat to read through: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Congratulations, Google, you can spy on math now.

Hopefully this kind of post isn't too tired, but I figure it's my turn:

Finally decided to, after absolutely refusing to upgrade to 11, make the jump from Win10 to Linux! Been hopping around distros a bit and landed on EndeavourOS last night and I'm really enjoying it so far.

It's definitely tinkery and took me like 2 hours just to get my push to talk working in Discord (mostly due to my own lack of knowledge), but I love the level of control of everything you have (was on Pop!_OS before ~~🤮~~, edit: no hate, just wasn't for me!)

There's definitely never been a better time to switch and I'm very excited for when I inevitably brick my shit and come back here for help, so thanks in advance everyone! :)

So, I am trying to find quality elastic ribbon bookmarks that won't damage my books. I want this kind of bookmark because I use these types of elastics for my tablet cases and there is one on a notebook I have and it's really satisfying to close out my experience by reapplying the elastic band. Does anyone have any suggestions for a quality set of these bookmarks? Thanks in advance!

This is a first line This is a second line This is the third line.

These all appear on the same line eventhough I wrote them on separate lines

If I add a "enter" after each line, they'll appear on separate lines, but have white spaces in between.

This is the first line

This is the third line.

Now I only add two spaces behind each line and they'll appear just as I wrote them

Every time my brain is telling me it will last forever, even though it will really only be a few hours. But they feel like an eternity. Don't really have anyone to talk to about it (My therapist on Monday, but it's always hard to get going on those convos). No need for sympathy, buy ill take some positive encouragement if anyone has any to spare.

I’m writing a story and one of the characters is a trillionaire. How much power and influence would a trillionaire have? Would there be something they realistically wouldn’t be able to afford?

I’ll start:

Idaho - when people think “racism in the United States” their minds go to the Deep South. The Deep South is absolutely pretty bad, and there’s of course the whole history with the confederacy so it makes sense that’s what we think of, but Idaho is let off the hook way too much given that it’s a hotbed of Nazis and Christian nationalists trying to form a white ethnostate. Idaho needs to be more closely linked to virulent racism like the Deep South currently is. And tbh I’ve been to the Deep South, I like it down there, it’s actually pretty diverse in many areas, if I had to live there it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. You couldn’t pay me to set foot in Idaho.

Gen X - look, if we’re gonna do generational warfare gen x needs a lot more hate. Sorry to any xers out there but boomers have been punching bags for a while, millenials are starting to get a good amount of hate, and they’ve always been made fun of for their Harry Potter and office love, tbh a lot of millennial shit is just considered cringe these days, gen z obviously gets all the “ugh what’s wrong with the youth” hate and this new media cycle has them being portrayed as pretty much the new hitler youth. Gen x needs to start getting some more hate, especially now with all these weird gen x venture capitalists influencing the trump admin trying to realize their vision of a neo fascist network state
