Did you know that if a spammer uses your email address as the FROM: address, which is easy to do, all the bounce messages will go to your email address? If the spammer really hates you, they will send millions of emails with your FROM: address and you will get a million bounce messages.

Can you stop this or prevent this? No

Why would a mail provider send you a bounce message, knowing you're innocent? Because that's how someone wrote the protocol back then, and nobody changes it or does it differently because ... reasons.

Does the spammer get a bounce message? Nope, not one.

Does the SMTP sending account owner whose credentials were stolen be notified about bounces so they can stop the spam? Nope.

Just millions of emails sent every day to poor schlameels who have no idea why they are getting them and who can't do anything about them.

The more I learn about the email protocols, the more I realize how terrible the design is.

Idaho - when people think “racism in the United States” their minds go to the Deep South. The Deep South is absolutely pretty bad, and there’s of course the whole history with the confederacy so it makes sense that’s what we think of, but Idaho is let off the hook way too much given that it’s a hotbed of Nazis and Christian nationalists trying to form a white ethnostate. Idaho needs to be more closely linked to virulent racism like the Deep South currently is. And tbh I’ve been to the Deep South, I like it down there, it’s actually pretty diverse in many areas, if I had to live there it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. You couldn’t pay me to set foot in Idaho.

Gen X - look, if we’re gonna do generational warfare gen x needs a lot more hate. Sorry to any xers out there but boomers have been punching bags for a while, millenials are starting to get a good amount of hate, and they’ve always been made fun of for their Harry Potter and office love, tbh a lot of millennial shit is just considered cringe these days, gen z obviously gets all the “ugh what’s wrong with the youth” hate and this new media cycle has them being portrayed as pretty much the new hitler youth. Gen x needs to start getting some more hate, especially now with all these weird gen x venture capitalists influencing the trump admin trying to realize their vision of a neo fascist network state

Michael Gloss, 21, was the son of CIA Deputy Director for Digital Innovation Julianne Gallina Gloss, and Iraq war veteran Larry Gloss.

Before arriving in Russia on August 13, 2023, Gloss was travelling around Europe. On his Vkontakte page bio, he wrote: "I ran away from home (and) traveled the world. I hate fascism."

On April 4, 2024, he was killed, likely during a Russian offensive near Bakhmut, however, his burial in the U.S. did not take place until December 2024, Important Stories reports.

Women who transitioned decades ago feel their safety and security has suddenly been removed

Last week’s supreme court ruling sent shock waves through the UK’s trans community.

The unanimous judgment said the legal definition of a woman in the Equality Act 2010 did not include transgender women who hold gender recognition certificates (GRCs).

That feeling was compounded when Kishwer Falkner, the chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which is preparing new statutory guidance, said the judgment meant only biological women could use single-sex changing rooms and toilets.

Here in Romania, it's a pretty big deal. It's a public holiday, so a lot of people have the day off. This year, for example, because it falls on a Thursday, the government decided to make 2 May a day off as well, creating a four-day weekend. Barbecues with family and friends are the national pastime on 1 May. Spending time outdoors in open spaces ("la iarbă verde" - literally "to the green grass") such as woods, meadows, beaches, parks, etc., barbecuing and having picnics is also a staple. This year, I'm going with my girlfriend and her parents to Italy and Switzerland (Lake Como and Lugano) - which also means we'll be voting for president abroad (4 May - first round of the presidential elections).
