Been making internet ads more reliable for a few years now. That's literally my entire job. Making sure that ads get shown on your computer screen with as little errors as possible. I was able to handle it okay at first because it pays well and I have no ability to get another job (combination of awful labor market and low experience) but I've been dissociating hard af and have started to get incredibly dark thoughts while at work (I'm perfectly fine outside of it) the last few weeks

It's not even a fake email job, it's pretty complex and has a decently high workload too so I can't just screw around. I actually need to be able to focus deeply for hours every day which is now almost impossible because of how empty and dreadful it's been making me

Haven't quit because I'm supporting my partner as well who makes no money living their desired career

From the last earnings call in 2024, Elon discussing bus-lanes:

Like, bus lanes in China are one of our biggest challenges in making FSD work in China is their bus lanes are very complicated. And there's like literally like hours of the day that you're allowed to be there and not be there.

And then if you accidentally go in at bus lane at the wrong time, you get an automatic ticket instantly... Anyway, we'll get this solved.

Wait, what do you mean - this isn't already solved? Tons of markets have time-controlled bus lanes, including American cities where FSD is fully operational.

Turns out, nope! Videos of FSD ignoring bus-only lanes are easy to find.

I feel bad for the bus drivers in Austin who will be sharing their lane with Tesla's autonomous taxi fleet in a couple weeks...

Hi I'm from Germany and I recently discovered these different spreads other than peanut butter here that I found quite tasty.

One was a peanut butter chocolate spread from Reese's who also makes my favorite candy Reese's peanut butter cups.

And I found a chocolate cream that's like Nutella but with crunchy pieces mixed in like the one in the image (tastes like Ovaltine powder or Whoppers candy and 55% of the ingredients is just sugar).

Nutella (/hazelnut spread) of course is very popular here but I rarely eat it. As a kid I used to love and be obsessed with this cookie butter from Lotus.

Other spreads I know would be Dulce de leche which is caramel flavored and popular in Latin America.

Is that something Americans would eat or does this sound very exotic/weird and they mostly stick to standard peanut butter?

It appears Elections Canada’s website is experiencing some technical issues this evening, just as polls in the 45th Canadian federal general election are beginning to come to a full close across the country.

As of the time of writing, voting stations are still open in British Columbia, Alberta, parts of Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon. Polling stations in B.C. will be the last to close at 7 p.m. PDT.

The issues with the website first began at approximately 4 p.m. PDT.

So uhh

I don't exactly know where to begin. So I'll start by saying I have nothing but love and respect for FNAF and the series creator Scott Cawthon.

Nothing I say here is intended as an attack on the franchise or the people involved. If anything the opposite and I look forward to upcoming FNAF projects like the DBD Collab and the Secret of the Mimic game.

Our story takes place in the summer of 2016. FNAF World had recently been announced and Scott was very openly talking to his fanbase on the forums for FNAF 4. Most of it about FNAF World, the then upcoming RPG.

Now one interesting side tangent is that the first FNAF game and Undertale came out and met critical and financial success at the same time.

This is relevant because early on there were rumors discussed by fans of both that FNAF World was going to have a shout out to Undertale. This was discussed to DEATH on the FNAF 4 forums. So much so that Scott vehemently denied not only the rumors but any connection the two would have.

Me being literally autistic did not take this to mean "Hey stop talking about Undertale." But instead "Go off on a tangent about similarities between the two. This would be a good idea."

So I did and received a permanent ban from the FNAF 4 Steam Forums. Everytime I go there, I see a big red banner that reads "Since you won't drop it. I don't have a choice."

The sad thing is, I did drop it and would twice more briefly have the chance to speak with Scott Cawthon on the boards for FNAF World (Where I made a post of encouragement he responded positively) to in which I made clear my refusal to refund the game. And FNAF Sister Location (Where he had a light response to me sarcastically asking where the sister was located. Something along the lines of "You'll find out when you play the game." It was a long time ago

Both times we got on fine and he seemed to appreciate my support for his works, yet only after that did I ever think to ask about an unban for FNAF 4.

It's not that FNAF 4 is such a happening board or anything. It's even my least favorite fnaf game (Sorry Scott the audio cues still do not work worth a darn) but I've always seen that ban, as of my writing this the only steam forum ban I have on record to my knowledge, at least the only that wasn't eventually overturned... as a dark mark on my record, a stain from when I was a younger person in her early 20s who let her hype and excitement run ahead of her logic

Fast forward to today. 9 years later. I've asked a friend who is friends with the fnaf mod team about removing the ban only for them to say they would but FNAF 4 was not a board they had jurisdiction over. at least that's how I understood it. I wasn't actually involved in that conversation...

She suggested I talk to Scott about it and I tried to but sadly that isn't as easy to do as it was in 2016. Scott is big time now and most of his emails are clogged with branding deals, business conversations, and fan mail... I've sent multiple emails about the situation and received nothing back in reply.

So this is where I'm left. Does anybody have an ideas? Think I can talk to valve about it? Should I try to make a public post on a fnaf board explaining the situation?

It's been 9 years, countless more FNAF games, and three US presidents later but the ban and the embarrassment it represents still lingers.

And I would appreciate any advice anyone has concerning the situation. Thank you.

Summary

Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen, during his first visit to Denmark since taking office in March, rejected Donald Trump’s push to annex Greenland, stating the island "will never be a piece of property that can be bought."

Standing alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, he added, “We are in a foreign policy situation which means we have to move closer together.”

Frederiksen said Denmark was ready to invest more in Greenland as part of a “modernisation” of the two countries relationship.

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberals won a federal election Monday, the country’s public broadcaster, the CBC, projected, an extraordinary comeback that was fueled in part by President Donald Trump’s tariff policies and attacks on Canada.

Just months ago, Carney’s party was headed for a potentially historic drubbing. It was not yet clear whether the Liberals would rule a minority or majority government as votes continued to be counted.

Amid the U.S. president’s trade war and threats to annex its northern neighbor, voters flocked to Carney — a political novice, who led the Bank of Canada during the global financial crisis and the Bank of England during Brexit. He pitched himself as a steady hand at a destabilizing time.
