Go to your phone homescreen and look at the app dock (the bottom row that contains some apps and stays the same when you switch pages).

Which are yours? Any FOSS apps?

In my case, they are FDroid, Signal, Threema, Firefox and the defaul Samsung camera app. So, 80% FOSS..

I’ll start:

Idaho - when people think “racism in the United States” their minds go to the Deep South. The Deep South is absolutely pretty bad, and there’s of course the whole history with the confederacy so it makes sense that’s what we think of, but Idaho is let off the hook way too much given that it’s a hotbed of Nazis and Christian nationalists trying to form a white ethnostate. Idaho needs to be more closely linked to virulent racism like the Deep South currently is. And tbh I’ve been to the Deep South, I like it down there, it’s actually pretty diverse in many areas, if I had to live there it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. You couldn’t pay me to set foot in Idaho.

Gen X - look, if we’re gonna do generational warfare gen x needs a lot more hate. Sorry to any xers out there but boomers have been punching bags for a while, millenials are starting to get a good amount of hate, and they’ve always been made fun of for their Harry Potter and office love, tbh a lot of millennial shit is just considered cringe these days, gen z obviously gets all the “ugh what’s wrong with the youth” hate and this new media cycle has them being portrayed as pretty much the new hitler youth. Gen x needs to start getting some more hate, especially now with all these weird gen x venture capitalists influencing the trump admin trying to realize their vision of a neo fascist network state

I've been learning for a bit over a week now. Been using the app HelloChinese and some YouTube videos. Also made It a goal for myself by the end of the week to learn about 100 character. To which I was relatively successful at. Though I think I still need some work. The whole tonal thing is a bit confusing to me since I'm a tad deaf when It comes to accents but I think I'm getting the hang of It slowly.

What really motivated me was meeting nice native Chinese folk on Rednote and the current US-China trade war. Hell when I could read the name of the app I was ecstatic lol.

My goal for now is knowing enough to have basic to average conversations and read basic stuff like food menu's and signs. But If I'm still really motivated I might have to learn 2000-3000 characters which is probably enough to read a book.

I'll still see. Not sure what the point of this post was but I hope this motivates ya'll to learn a bit too.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted a photo on X Friday night of the Wisconsin judge who was arrested for allegedly obstructing immigration agents while she was handcuffed, being escorted to a vehicle by officials.

The photo of Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan does not show her face, but shows her being escorted by three law enforcement agents in a perp walk. The caption by Patel read, “No one is above the law.”

According to the Confidentiality and Media Contacts Policy listed on the Justice Department’s website, DOJ personnel “should not voluntarily disclose a photograph of a defendant unless it serves a law enforcement function or unless the photograph is already part of the public record in the case.”

I've been using a 3rd party client to access posts on Lemmy. I loved the experience back when Reddit allowed 3rd party apps. But I felt the feed was a bit........one sided.

I figured it was just because I was new to Lemmy, but then I sorted posts by New.

Nothing but trans anime porn. It's like the only people that came to Lemmy were the people that got kicked out of Reddit circles because all they could think about was trans anime porn.

Maybe I signed up on the wrong instance? But I don't think that's the problem.

How are so many people trying to treat Lemmy as a balanced alternative to Reddit?

What the fuck?!

I've recently gotten a lot of my childhood Lego from parents place to mine and am looking for a good way to sell them.

What I have is just a lot of smaller/medium sized sets from the 80s or 90s. I think most of them should be complete but I need to dig through bags and put them together, so it will take a bit of time to know.

With complete I mean having all parts, nothing broken or missing, including instructions. I only have a few original boxes left though, so its mostly bricks and instructions.

I am not in a hurry to sell, but I'd like to get back my storage space that this is occupying. One note is that I live in Northern Europe, shipping cost in my country is pretty high, especially for tracked packages, not sure this could be a factor to reduce my chances of selling stuff at decent price.

Any input/suggestions for this would be appreciated!
