As we have seen a rise of toxic behavior we have decided that it would be time for some rules. We would love other ideas too and feel free to discuss it here.

Also we are thinking about, to put in an Automoderation tool that could help us a lot. Because its currently not easy for us to scan every new comments and reports are rare currently. We want your opinons on that too, because its important to us that this community is based on the people here.

The shortlist that we have currently as idea for the Rules:

  • Be Kind to each other
  • No Hate speech
  • Dont harass people
  • No Racism, sexism and any other discrimination
  • Dont attack other people just because they have differnt opinions (Stay on Topic)
  • Do not double post

I have copied that idea from another community. I forgot which one so sorry!

Why do they put paint on roads and call that bike lanes?

Drivers don't respect painted lanes

This is bad planning

Video shows a car clipping a parked car and flipping over, crashing into several other cars. There's a jogger on the pavement a few metres away. Easily could've killed a pedestrian if they'd been between the cars or trying to cross further along. Apparently the local council won't even lower the speed limit.

Sharing this here mainly for the startling stat that 'SUVs were "77% more likely to kill a child if involved in a collision"'.

Denmark’s energy minister called on citizens to reduce their energy use amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.

Oil prices jumped to over $100 a barrel on Thursday, raising fears of rising inflation.

β€œIf it is not strictly necessary to drive the car, then don’t do it,” the minister stressed to Danish citizens.

Whenever media, politicians, people or even the police complain about dangerous cyclists, with their reckless driving, without a helmet, without a light, please remember it is a distraction. They don't want you to know the truth, because they love their cars more than the neighbors children.

I kindly ask you to remind them of this table whenever the topic comes up. For example: 'yes, cyclists should have a light to reduce danger, but remember that the car is the bigger danger by far. Always. And whenever we ignore that, we accept the loss of lives.' This is not whataboutism, because regarding safety, the numbers clearly show which culprit to urgently address first.

Even if the car was more dangerous in the past and safety regulations have helped: these numbers are from 2022. If you feel safer driving in a car, instead of walking or cycling: look for the deaths for car-on-car collisions.

There is no way around this: if we have that many cars driving fast, we will have that many deaths.

Thank you!

They illegally park wherever. Block sidewalks. Block bike lanes. Block Crosswalks. Double-park.

Imagine I opened a store selling…I don’t know…chairs. Then I put out chairs

The Buick failed to yield and the 6,660 lb cyber truck may have been speeding.

I was in portugal in a verbo rental (forgive me) drinking on the balcony late at night. Farro Portugal to be exact and I witinessed a car crash with two soviet style tiny cars. It was like a cartoon. They didn't miss a beat.... one ran from the scene and as the other collected themselves eventually chased after them. It was comical and harmless... relative no harm done. In the pit of despair inside of the imperial core we are groomed from a young age to psychopathy. The USA and its stoopid culture is and has infected the world. Imperial dum dum yankeeeland is not a model to build from and our ideas are stooooopid and anti-social.

In 2021, when the City of San Diego restriped 30th Street after replacing century-old underground pipelines, the move was controversial. Parking was reconfigured, traffic patterns shifted and a busy commercial corridor through North Park and South Park was given something it had never had before: protected bike lanes. Four years later, the numbers tell a different story.

According to data from San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and a city-installed bike counter, annual cycling trips along 30th Street hovered around 50,000 before the lanes went in. In the first full year after installation, that figure jumped to 114,682 rides β€” a staggering 120 per cent increase. Ridership hasn’t plateaued since. Counts rose another 1.7 per cent in 2023, 5.7 per cent in 2024 and 6.9 per cent in 2025, marking four straight years of growth.

It's good news for bikes, y'all, even though these lanes are not fully protected, they're just cones not concrete.
