Hey everyone,

I've been seeing the Tornado mentioned in various places and wanted to ask for your opinions. Are any of you thinking of copping one?

Analog devices are very attractive to me. While I like the fact that devices like the UniDyn look like a tiny stick, I am a huge proponent for overengineered functionality than aesthetic (to an extent!)

USBC-PD is a pretty awesome standard for powering stuff in 2025. Many devices can easily be powered by a 65-100w charger and equivalent USBC-pd cord. The adapter used for the eq is a 18-20v usbc-PD to 5.5x2.1mm barrel plug connector usually advertised for laptops. I have a PD charger for 12v car batteries it acts as a small dc-dc converter that runs off my solar system

What do you do to turn your stuff into stash? The best method I found so far has been slow cooking in coconut oil and turning it to pill caps. I follow this guide from high times. Skipping the decarb step obviously.(video)(text)

Full text recipePreparation Time: 8 hours

Equipment: Oven, Crock-Pot, Spray Bottle

Secret Weapon: Everclear Alcohol

Our first method was developed by scientist Tamar Wise, CSO at Nutrawerx, a cannabinoid nutraceutical company. Tamar’s method is unique because it uses Everclear alcohol to help break down the cellulose in the plant material, helping cannabinoids to migrate into the lipids.

First, toast the cannabis trim in the oven at 240ºF for an hour, before cooling and spraying with Everclear alcohol. As soon as the alcohol hits the decarbed flowers, an intense toasty cannabis smell is released, making your kitchen very fragrant.

Simmer the 1/2 ounce of decarbed trim in 8 oz. of clarified butter in a Crock-Pot for 6 hours, stirring frequently, before removing and straining. I measured the temperature of the Crock-Pot at various points through the process, seeing it climb from 185ºF to 240ºF on the low setting. The cannabis becomes incredibly crisp after this process, and it smells and tastes rather strong.

Learn the Recipe: Scientific Cannabutter

Unique for using Everclear alcohol to help break down the plant matter and allow cannabinoids to escape, this method was developed by cannabinoid scientist Tamar Wise. Using common household equipment and the ever-popular Crock-Pot makes it simple to create cannabutter overnight. Watch Tamar create her infusions for a gourmet dinner hosted at Hunter S. Thompson’s house!

Ingredients:

1/2 oz. flowers 1 oz. Everclear in a spray bottle 8 oz. clarified butter

  1. Preheat oven to 240ºF.

  2. Grind your flowers down in a blender or food processor. Spread ground flower evenly on bottom of a sheet pan and place in middle of oven.

  3. Bake for an hour, stirring once halfway through. Make sure the flower stays evenly spread out.

  4. Take pan out of oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, place some Everclear in a spray bottle, and spray a fine mist of alcohol all over the toasted flower. This step helps break down the cellulose slightly, allowing for a less green infusion color. If you don’t have a spray bottle you can use a teaspoon and sprinkle the Everclear on the cannabis flowers while stirring with a spoon.

  5. Let flowers sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, begin melting your butter over low heat.

Since we have already decarboxylated, the butter only needs to be hot enough to extract cannabinoids. A slow simmer is good. Spoon the flower into the butter and stir.  Extract using a Crock-Pot set on low for 6 hours and stir every hour or so to prevent burning.

  1. Once your infusion is done, turn off heat and let the cannabutter cool down for at least 20 minutes.

  2. Line a metal strainer with cheesecloth. Pour butter through the cheesecloth and use a spoon to squeeze all the infused cannabutter out.

  3. Now your cannabutter is ready to use in recipes! Keep it in the fridge and use within two weeks.

Its a stem for the arizer portable vaporizer series. Been wanting one of these for over a year now. decided to finally indulge this VAS for 420.

The four little holes in glass filters that came with the arizer just so damn restrictive. The mesh screen of eds stem promises t9 have much more airflow. I'm curious if the metal body helps with conduction.

Ive always heard vapor nerds talk about tasting the wood, I wonder if its true. This is cocobolo. The picture was full dark but the one I got is half dark wood half light wood, stamping on light side. I appreciate the duality, its fine. For some reason my last piece the rosium m7xl also had this coloration duality. Perhaps the universe is trying to send a message?

This is a favorite sesh setup of mine. It may be THE favorite honestly but dont tell that to my other sesh children they need to know I love them equal lol.

The EQ/vtower Is an underrated desktop vape. Highly affordable, energy efficient, simple in design, and fantastic build quality. Will stay on forever if you want.

The bowls it comes with are the weak link. It really needs to be modded with aftermarket parts for best performance.

Vape balls better collect and distribute heat across the herb . this allows for even cooking and a distinct conduction feeling draw over its stock airy convection feel.

The ddave one hitter is pretty much the perfect size for a single One Hit Extraction(OHE). Its about 0.05g per dome pack. The stainless steel version really soaks in the heat which helps conduction where herb touches dome walls I feel.

The black rubber fitting to sidecar is dynavap rubber tip.

Speaking of, sidecar is perfect amount of water. You only want just enough to introduce moisture to help throat dry feel.

I never made an animated GIF before thought this would be a fun starter project. A little jittery in places but came out how I wanted it to more or less.

I save up a 50ml shot glass full of ABV and dump it all into a small blender quart sized smoothie when the time comes.

Strawberry yogurt, fresh strawberry, frozen banana, vanilla icecream, and a scoop of peanut butter, and your prefered kind of milk. These ingredients do nicely to mask the ABV taste and get the liquid slosh down the gullet easy.

I didn't measure how many Gs of abv but I estimate about 10g of ABV was used I'll try to scale it if I make this kind of post in the future.

I'm using the Herborizer tonight, which is probably my favorite desktop vape that I own. I didn't get into the whole ball vape craze very much because the Herborizer is just such a pleasant experience and a heavy hitter in its own right. This is probably the vape that I use the most often; I love the design, the vapor signature, and the overall experience of using it.

Hey there everyone! I made some changes to the community and wanted to be transparent with you about them.

Changelog

  • Rewritten and expanded community description
  • Updated banner to higher quality image with proper cropping ratio
  • Updated thumbnail to something hopefully more easily recognizable on smaller devices

Unpinned Post

  • Unpinned sales post / Reason: Inactive for over a year. Its better to make a new individual post for visibility/engagement.

  • Unpinned "Made dynavap/arizer community" / Reason: Inactive for two years. Also I dont think promoting lemmy vape community fragmentation when were still so small is a good idea.

  • Unpinned General Discussion post / Reason: Inactive for two years. Its better to make a new individual post for visibility/engagement.

Thumbnail & Banner Change

I thought the old thumbnail was a little hard to recognize on smaller devices and it was just a generic picture of the volcano. I wanted a more recognizable simple icon that would better represent vapes without being overly specific of one kind. The icon is still of a volcano shaped vape but with removed branding, dark green border, and a hand drawn vapor cloud. If you have constructive critisism or a compelling argument for changing it back I will hear you out.

Conclusion

Thank you all for helping keep this community alive! From the posters, to the commenters, and the readers/lurkers. All of you have done great to keep c/Vaporents going. Ill do my best to continue posting and keep our zone well maintained.

Real talk: sometimes my stash runs out and I want something to fill the habit if nothing else. No stoner is proud of scraping the barrel, but sometimes we do. At least I do, cant speak for everyone.

Lately I have been revaping ABV while waiting for the re-up. I usually try saving it up for oil making but tbh ABV cannaoil doesnt do much for me so its not really worth the oil or a full day of processing to make it.

It definitely doesnt taste great. I can only get like one appreciable hit off a full dynavap tip. Running the vapor through water is almost a must to help cool and mute the taste. Its better than nothing, but its not super pleasant.

I'm reminded of my teenage days with spoon pipes and combustion.

IDK how common this is but my dumbass stoner friends taught me how to scrape up the black tar that formed in the spoons into a 'res ball' and smoke that shit. UGH it was so nasty tasting especially raw dogging the butane until the ball lit up. I get the sensation to gag thinking about it. Boy did it get you high though.

Compared to that, re-vaping ABV is a enjoyable cake walk. Even occasionally kissing the dragon is better tasting than butane and res balls.

Thank you for changing my life, vaporizer technology. Even at my most bottom-barrel scraping I will never have to taste fucking butane or choke on tar carcinogens again.

This dock allows you to route a USB cable into it so you can drop your XMax v3 Pro on it to charge.

The USB-C hole is larger than most plugs on purpose so most will fit. Use a small amount of glue to secure the cable in place.

I suggest routing it through the dock, then plug it into the vape. Apply a little glue to the edges of the USB cable and insert it all into the dock. This will ensure it always connects when you put the vape down.

I also will be selling this via my webstore, printed/shipped or as an STL (if you wanted to support me)

I would like to buy a Birthday present for a friend who doesn't vape. They like growing plants and have done an amazing job taking advantage of the new German laws. They are not big smokers -- more big gardeners.

Can anybody recommend a good starter vape that won't disappoint someone new to vaping?

I was looking at the Dynavap M7 starter pack (I have an M7 and I am happy with it), but it is a bit more than I want to spend. I also looked at the Dynavap B starter pack, but I have never used a B and I don't know if it is any good. I am also open buying a battery vape, but I bought a cheap battery vape once and I was not impressed.

I wanted to share my current vaporizer setup with you guys.

To start, heres synthetic ruby balls over ceramic heater set to max temp.

Next is a custom herb extraction chamber device made from an omega wand, modified dynavap fat mouthpiece, and diy nectar collector herb chamber.

The extraction device inserts into the EQ forming an air tight seal with glass adapter. The herb chamber sits directly above the ruby heater balls.

Finally some glass is added on top. Arizer solo stems work well.

Hey, I'd like to replace my Healthy Rips Rouge in the near future, as the battery is holding less and less charge. I'd appreciate some recommendations for buying in the EU.

What I like:

  • easy to clean, options for attachments
  • usb c
  • very basic ux
  • ability to use dosing capsules, very nice for cleaning and using on the go

What I dislike:

  • non replaceable battery
  • a bit too chunky

Thank you!

Hey so I have one of these

I've run into an issue recently where one of the cartridges that I purchased for it doesn't fit properly (the cartridge in question has a flat mouthpiece that is longer than the normal round versions, and when you screw it all the way in it doesn't line up exactly flat to allow the case to fit over it). That's disappointing. I didn't realize this would even be an issue or something that I should have to look out for. It still works (mostly), but I think I'm also getting a lot of air in the draw as well which definitely affects the quality/useability.

So, all that being said, I think I'd like to get something that's a bit better quality and possibly more universal design. I like the pocket-able design of the current model and the fact that it's discreet. So, I'd just like to know what are some of your favorite models like this or what's the next step up in quality. Thanks!

Also,

USB-C please!
