Marxism is a rejection of metaphysics, so the determinism debate is mostly irrelevant. Marxism is a concrete analysis of concrete observable conditions. Although as @FunkyStuff@hexbear.net said, there is a degree of 'predetermination' of one's worldview by their class stand.
