Just let me work remote, thanks.

[-] residentmarchant@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

From what I've read about working at Chinese tech companies, you will not get to work remotely. In fact, you will be required to work in an office for 10 hrs a day instead of coming and going as you please.

Just look at the TSMC factory in AZ as an example. Taiwanese work expectations are not very compatible with how top US talent wants to work.

Agreed, I wasn't exactly sure how well it would translate countries, but it was the first solid thing that came to mind.

[-] ubergeek@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

I think the people living there disagree with you...

[-] umbrella@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago

not unlike the americans who think they live in a democracy

[-] ubergeek@lemmy.today 0 points 1 day ago

Ay least we agree, the people living in Taiwan do not believe they are a part of China then, correct?

[-] umbrella@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

people living in taiwan are probably not a monolithic block.

but the cia has been doing some mighty propaganda work over there, so who knows if they think being a colony is worth it.

So, the people of Taiwan, who largely support the current government there are all too stupid to not fall under the influence of the CIA?

Sounds racist af to me.... those dumb Taiwanese are incapable of knowing what they want, without a daddy state telling them what is good for them.

Ok, colonizer.

[-] ubergeek@lemmy.today -1 points 1 day ago

Plenty of us USians understand our system is in no way democratic...

[-] umbrella@lemmy.ml 1 points 18 hours ago

and as i understand it, a lot of people outside it too, with their respective countries

[-] ubergeek@lemmy.today 1 points 18 hours ago

At least we agree, the working class, living in Taiwan, agree they are not China.

[-] umbrella@lemmy.ml 1 points 10 hours ago
