Not really. Microsoft got a slap on the wrist and was told to not create a new monopoly.

Putting Ballmer in charge was enough to do that.

Microsoft has acquired over 250 companies since that time. I don't think trying in the 90s means they are good forever.

Do Apple then Facebook. These companies have bought or stolen from so many companies. They should all be broken up they are all to big.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Everything in these kind of cases tends to be a negotiation. So if the starting point by the DOJ is "break them up", then I imagine they are willing to settle for something much less undesirable to Alphabet.
