"Best we can do is open containers in New York during happy hour. That way, you can enjoy your martini on the go!"

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 5 points 9 months ago

Cheers I'll drink to that

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 11 points 9 months ago

Smh you whiny leftists don't let perfect be the enemy of good. You're willing to hand the presidency to a fascist Cheeto, just because you disagree with Kamala on this one little issue!

[–] robot_dog_with_gun@hexbear.net 4 points 9 months ago

no candidate is perfect, you shouldn't let trump win just because they don't check a few boxes. they're entitled to your vote

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 80 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

A complete misuse of the meme format, a dogshit take, and they can't even finish the meme without frothing at the mouth over leftists who refuse to endorse genocide. Peak lib shit.

[–] threethan@reddthat.com 73 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Alternatively, a perfect use of the format. The guy in the second panel is basically space Hitler

[–] coeliacmccarthy@hexbear.net 29 points 9 months ago

it's perfect

[–] radio_free_asgarthr@hexbear.net 63 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Oh, yeah, this is a democracy. But your vote doesn't mater for most issues. You have to have genocide and war mongering, no sufficient action on climate change, etc. Your vote is only deciding between Republicans and polite Republicans. You stupid child, how dare you think your vote should have input in terms of what the government does.

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 26 points 9 months ago

I love how in one breath liberals will scream "voting matters! Republicans want to make it illegal" then in the next breath post memes like this where voting doesn't matter and you're simply ticking a box, but that's a good thing because what are you a child?

Bluemaga really is the most apt poltical term of the last decade

Childish: Accepting that the current system is insufficient and a massive undertaking is necessary if you have any morals whatsoever even if you personally aren't affected right now.

Mature: fuck you, got mine, I'm entitled to your vote 🍷

Childish: Listening to the argument to vote for a candidate who checks none of your boxes and deciding that this time enoughs enough, because that lizard is committing a genocide.

Mature: Upon hearing the long list of reasons people won't vote for your candidate, shut your ears and claim they require a perfect candidate who will create world peace.

Childish: Remembering the many promises the Dems have broken and requiring some sort of actual guarantee they will take action.

Mature: football-lucyfootball-charlie-brown

Childish: Having a memory that's longer than four years

Mature: This is the most important election of our lifetime!

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I always say the maturity cult in western society is just fetish. Ultimately it have little to do with actual maturity and more with conforming to capitalist society and being good drone.

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 4 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Relatedly the constant talk of "nuance" which is also just a way to whitewash the shitty system we have, without actually providing any nuance (the nuance right now is that Israelis are committing a genocide, but the palestinians sometimes throw rocks at the soldiers killing them, so its not so black and white again).

Real maturity isn't to do fuckall and real nuance would be to applaud hamas despite their fucked up politics.

[–] FuckyWucky@hexbear.net 37 points 9 months ago

no one's asking for world peace, although leftists acknowledge U.S. role in most of the conflicts.

The weapons used to kill Palestinians are mainly U.S. made, that's the problem, the problem is centered on the U.S. and the role its President plays, not some lack of world peace.

[–] 2812481591@hexbear.net 36 points 9 months ago

I dunno, guys. I only have the energy to vote in one election, and I have a feeling like the election after this one is going to be the most important election of our lifetime.

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 28 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Liberals really are braindead with these kinds of takes, if policies don't matter then voting for Trump is equally as valid as voting for Harris

But then liberals screech "hIs pOlIcIies!!!" and when you point out Harris has equal or worse policies then Trump, suddenly its "policies don't matter, your voting for president not world peace"

Liberals don't believe in anything so their entire politics has to center around whatever power demands and how they can consume more comfortably

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 14 points 9 months ago

The Kingdom of Conscience will be exactly as it is now. Moralists don't really have beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded. Centrism isn't change -- not even incremental change. It is control. Over yourself and the world. Exercise it. Look up at the sky, at the dark shapes of Coalition airships hanging there. Ask yourself: is there something sinister in moralism? And then answer: no. God is in his heaven. Everything is normal on Earth.

IF YOU DON'T vote FOR 98% HITLER YOU'RE SUPPORTING 99% HITLER UNCONDITIONALLY jokah-messy

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

And once 98% Hitler is in office she pulls off a mask and reveals she's actually 101% hitler

I'd rather be a child than support genocide in the name of pragmatism.

[–] edge@hexbear.net 24 points 9 months ago

"The neat part"

[–] lemmyseizethemeans@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 9 months ago

Scratch a liberal

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 16 points 9 months ago

Well at least now they can drop that bullshit about "less genocide than trump"

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 13 points 9 months ago

They say this then justify their disastrous interventions or weasel their way into why they aren't as involved and shit. Disingenuous people

[–] CarbonScored@hexbear.net 9 points 9 months ago

Liberals make an argument for voting Dems that wouldn't also justify voting for Hitler challenge [IMPOSSIBLE]

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 9 points 9 months ago

Omni-man is literally a colonizer... fitting that they identify with him so strongly.
