What Do Democrats Need to Do? Act Like an Opposition Party.
Kind of funny how Democrats still have the Presidency and Senate, but are completely unable to exploit the narrative on health care now that public opinion is near-unanimously in their favor. It bodes ill for when they have even less power.
I think the unspoken problem with fixing healthcare is that they are scared of taking away the leverage job-provided healthcare gives businesses. People would be able to leave jobs more easily and they would start demanding higher pay. It could be a pretty significant economic shock.
Perhaps this will be hard for an establishment party, in an environment that has suppressed all opposition parties for generations?
