A community to share typecasts.

A typecast is a method for syndicating/broadcasting content to the internet by posting to a website by typing up a post using a typewriter. More infos and examples here.

Posts about typewriters which are not typecasts should be posted on !lemmy.cafe/c/typewriters. Typecasts about typewriters can be posted on both! Cosspost, or publish the same link twice.

Unless the typecast is yours, do not publish the images directly, but the link to the page. If it's yours, do as you wish!

Charming blog from a guy who seems to have it all figured out.

Is it usual to type out what typewriter you're using in every header?

I'm not OP, but I love his blog too! It's like a collection of wisdom pearls.

It's quite usual yes when you have a few machines at home. It helps remember the day you wrote that piece, because with typewriters the act of writing is meaningful by itself. I don't do that, but I have only two machines, with two very discernable fonts (an elite and a pica).

I had one or two around the house as a kid. Was pretty satisfying to use, compared with a computer. My kid hates handwriting so much I bet he would prefer it too.
