Super new to lineage, just successfully installed on an old Samsung tablet!

If I click a link to a pdf file in the browser, the pdf is downloaded and I have to select it to view it. I need pdfs to be displayed inside the browser directly. Is this possible with the buildin browser and how? And if not which browser would you recommend for this?

NB: no google play, so things have to be side loaded, if that matters to my question.

First of all congrats!

If you're new to "side-loading" or installing as we like to call it :) I highly recommend F-Droid; Fennec (like the other Firefox mobile browsers) has a built-in pdf viewer and is in the default f-droid repo

Thanks for all the answers. Installed F-Droid and then from there Fennec, works like a charm. Thanks!!!

Have you tried Fennec or Firefox?

This is an issue even in stock Android or iOS, mobile browsers don't bundle in a PDF viewer like the desktop versions do.

I don't have a solution, but I've hit the same problem.

@mittoken Firefox can do that.
