What has everyone been up to today?? I went for a walk, did the groceries, watched some NYC broadways centric YT (JJ got done dirty) and have an all 'round excellent evening)

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

big walk down the beach, cleaning and sorted out clothes to take to opshop, listened to some YTs, did a big tidy up of craft materials

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

the beach was beautiful today

Why canโ€™t we have a cat?

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago

Do you have a restrictive lease, reactive dog, wallpaper made of lillys, or anaphylactic level allergy? Then of course you may have a cat.

Submit your application to the CDS forthwith!

Going to an 'illegal' warehouse rave tonight lol.

Been a while.

I'm sure there are heaps of techno ones but not many with pure DnB like this.

Not sure about making it to 5am these days though.

There's a joke here about mdma but I'm too tired to think of one lol

I'm probably the youngest person here and I cannot stay up anymore

[โ€“] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They should start these at 5pm so that the police come and take us senior citizens home in time for bed.

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

I'd be down for 10am-4pm day raves.

The main reason I go to the gym is because of my dud shoulder.

If I don't go for about 10 days, the migraines start happening and I can't play guitar or drums.

Then there's stress of missing work, physio bills etc.

So I go 3 or 4 times a week, do particular things when im there and it keeps my shoulder working properly.

This is all from the years of house demolitions before I got into IT as a career.

Labouring really does wear your body out.

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I've probably mentioned it before but club-bells are great shoulder mobility exercise. You can just use a bottle of water or whatever as a weight, no need to get anything fancy.

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Good call.

Usually I do seated row and lat pull (amongst the rest) which seems to be ok.

Will give it a go.

I've been working on hip mobility. There's hundreds of youtube videos on any joint you want to work. They range in quality but working through videos consistently will get results and reveal which exercises you get the most from.

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Are you doing stretches for hip mobility or weights?

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Both. Dynamic stretches to warm up, static stretches to lengthen, full range of motion weights for mobility. My full range of motion, I'm still not that flexibile.

Does anyone else have tiny little flies hanging around? There's not enough of them to know where they're coming from but enough to declare a war.

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Round the compost bin I do.

[โ€“] Pilk@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Are they possible gnats from potted plants?

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't have any. These things are tiny like the size of a flea.

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I reckon you got a semi clogged sink drain and that's where they're coming from. Pour about half a bottle of dishwashing liquid down your sink's drain - cheap sort is fine. Leave for 10 mins and flush with hot water.

Yeah I've given all the drains a good clean, set vinegar traps and sprayed the house with fly spray. So far so good.

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

I've been looking at some of the photos and videos from the Pocket and they're coming out really nice. It's definitely better at video and everything has that kind of cold cinematic look, but with some tinkering on manual mode you could make it warmer

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

Danger, have been drilling into brick and have now broken out the CraftHerpes.

Fuck you muscle soreness. You're supposed to have a delayed onset!

DELAYED!!!!

[โ€“] StudChud@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Slight increase to my anti-sad dose and now I've been consistently waking up at 4.30am. While I do enjoy early morning cuddles with the cat, I would appreciate a sleep-in at some point lol

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago

Master the half asleep cuddlenap

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Going for a ride this morning if I can get out of the house. I wanted to go for one of the rides with the BUG but getting home at 1pm seemed too long for my girlfriend

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

so cold this morning

but birds are still singing, cats still meowing ๐Ÿ™‚

[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Stupid libre sensor. Went apeshit friday and kept reading HI (above 27.7 mmol), earprick read 13. So we moved to manual testing while it stayed stuck on her ( haven't removed it because it's surgically glued down)

Logging this morning's ear prick (4.4, we're just manually logging in the app since it puts it in a downloadable spreadsheet so we can calculate her curve) and it decides to get off the bong. "13.6!!" It cries. "13.6!"

Eat my arse.

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Report issues??

Best of luck to Cerybub. I still have some sugary cat treats (unopened) if youโ€™d like them for hypos

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Stayed up too late last night and have lost half of today. Want more sleep. Wasn't even that late!!

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

yup, I hate the losing the half the day thing

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago

Gโ€™morning.

Iโ€™ve made a coffee and a bacon sandwich (not a @bacon sandwich). This is good

I'm all about the croissant train. Ham and cheese with mine please too, it is objectively the finest way to eat a croissant

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Croissants for me too, please.

[โ€“] bacon@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Delicious! Perfect pre-bed snack.

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oooh, chef. That looks yummy. Could I have coffee and croissants with ham & cheese please.
