General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Ofcom rules haven't been relaxed, they just haven't been enforced, big difference.

If they wanted, they could have shut down GB news on day one. Not only are they guilty of violating various broadcast rules they're also breaking parliamentary rules. But Labour are weak and scared of them and so won't act.

GB News is basically an exercise in seeing what you can get away with. And the answer seems to be pretty much anything. Ofcom is a toothless joke.

It's not toothlessness it's corruption.

If somebody on the left does something that someone on the right doesn't like they write one letter and ofcom launcher full on investigation. Reverse the situation and suddenly there is no public interest.

The personal financial files of ofcom leadership should be a matter of public scrutiny, because they 100% taking backhanders.

[...]pretty much anything.

as long as it's right-wing.
