Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Johnson, Leto and Sandler were the A list? I'd hate to see that b list.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 7 points 18 hours ago

Put Trump in the ring. People will pay to see that

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 12 points 21 hours ago

Any association with Trump and MAGA should be a career killer. They can't force us to consume MAGA entertainers, make their careers die.

"White House cage fight event". We live in strange times...

[–] InputZero@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago

"Now I know everyone's shit is emotional right now."

good. anyone who attends this nazi’s rally needs to be reminded what a piece of shit they are, for the rest of their life.

Kinda surprised Leto would turn down an awful role

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 3 points 17 hours ago

There's always Nicolas Cage.

[–] Kushan@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

It's a misleading headline, should say "Hollywood A-listers and Jared Leto...."

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Or the Dwayne turning down a paycheck

[–] Zombie@feddit.uk 21 points 1 day ago

There's enough evidence that Trump doesn't pay his bills to question whether that paycheck would actually materialise

[–] Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Guy is already working on his own Epstein part two, he knows better than to be seen with the lips that sank the last ship.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

This is the dumbest shit ever

[–] krisevol@lemmus.org -1 points 16 hours ago

It going to make 100's of millions. Just wait and see

[–] usernametbd@lemmy.zip 15 points 1 day ago

You mean people aren’t clamoring to be part of one of the least classy social events to be thrown at the White House?

[–] Murse@slrpnk.net 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

declined invites

No, accept the invite. Then just don't show.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

Not worth it. Trump will brag and name drop the guest list, like he always does.

Then the non-cult public will shit on the celebs. Then when they don’t show, people will think they really wanted to go, but chickened out.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 11 points 1 day ago

I imagine that for celebrities like that an "invite" is probably an appearance contract, and there's probably penalties for not attending.

How is this relevant to politics? This is celeb gossip at best. Sean Strickland the US middle weight champ was also banned from the event for constantly calling trump a pedo and being very anti Isreal and very antisemitic (real). This event is going to be humiliation for the UFC.

[–] Kushan@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's literally on the white house front lawn.
