I would only download stuff I wasn't going to buy anyway, but if I do actually like it enough I then go and buy it, except if it's Nintendo. They can go fuck themselves in every way possible.

It happens all the time, I wouldn't say it's corruption, it's more hypocrisy. It's ok when they do it, but not ok when Democrats do it.

It's about what's relevant to the bill anyway, an amendment about Epstein isn't really relevant to the bill or the subject of the bill as far as I know so the Republicans wouldn't be totally wrong to say as much, they'd just be hypocrites but they always are so that's nothing new. The Democrats were doing it to get Republicans "on record" saying "no" so they could use it against them in the midterm elections, but I don't see that helping at all when the Republicans can just cry about process and their friendly media will back them up.

If I understand correctly this was a committee that was voting on pushing the GENIUS act forward so that it could then go on to the larger vote that would actually determine whether it became law.

The Democrats in this committee tried to add an amendment that required the release of the Epstein files so the vote was on the changes to the bill which the Republicans voted no and will just go on fox news to complain about Democrats not using the proper channels of legislation to get what they want.

There is literally no reason to go against Trump. They don't need the voters anymore, their seats up for reelection in the midterms are fairly safe and even then they can just cry about proper process not being followed, but if it was they'd gladly vote to release it.

Incoming hypocrisy!

"We'd gladly release it, but the method chosen was not appropriate. It should be voted on as a separate matter not as an amendment to the matter at hand."

Continues to use reconciliation packages to vote on GOP spending wishlists that can avoid a filibuster instead of the appropriate methods...

So like yeah, all that, but come on eggs were so expensive!

A little WWIII and some fascism just as a treat is well worth keeping Kamala out of office, she laughs for Christs sake!

"Listen Billy, you aren't getting it. The cruelty is the point. We're not supposed to be "helping people" because these aren't people! Did you even read the handbook? It's the one called Mein Kampf: Work Brings freedom. We handed them out with the mandatory swastika that I noticed you aren't wearing."

It seems as though unfortunately any people with the capacity for empathy never end up in positions of real power... :(

5-10 years isn't exactly that long so I don't expect more than "more of the same, but worse." AI will "improve," but energy demands will not be met to compensate for their draw, consumers will be forced to pay higher electricity bills because of it.

The US will more than likely face a huge economic disruption due to Mango Mussolini. I think most things will just be more of the same though.

Word a poll to fit what you want to say and you can make any statement...

There was just a poll posted the other day 60% of Hispanic people approve Trump's deportation of illegal (key word) immigrants: Trump doing well!

This poll, "79% say immigrants help the country" (missing the word illegal): Trump doing bad!

Forget the polls, the midterm election results will speak volumes.
