Extremely rarely do racists, homophobes, transphobes, and the like specifically say "I hate x," because then it gets harder to rationalize that away both to yourself and others.

That said, yes, she has. Lots of claiming being trans isn't a legitimate identity. Referring to trans women as "trans identifying men." Wrote a literal novel about trans women being serial killers, sniffing panties and hanging out in bathrooms to claim their next victims. Trying to speak for cis lesbians and claiming trans women are especially dangerous to them, despite cis lesbians being one of the least transphobic demographics and not being a lesbian herself. Retweeting hateful statements from even more blatant transphobes. Oh and I nearly forgot, straight up taking the label "TERF" and wearing it like it's somehow a badge of pride.

I know you said you don't want to watch some super long youtube video about it but I'm going to link to two of them anyway; it's a complex topic! They're pretty funny and come from the perspective of a trans woman with a background in academia. This one is pretty recent and comes with the added bonus of teaching you a lot about the history of social justice in general, and the fight for LGBT rights in particular. This one is older but is more focused on Rowling. Just keep in mind she's done much worse since that video came out.

Well if you stopped to THINK about it for a second you'd realize that the TRUE manmade climate change is god punishing us for all kinds of LGBTQ+ depravity. Gay sex is so hot it causes global warming!

It's a bug. Not sure if it'll get fixed anytime soon, though... the guy who runs my instance explained it to me here: https://lemm.ee/comment/171585

Their app WAS more user friendly. This whole thing is them buying Alien Blue, deciding it wasn't monetized enough, and ruining it

you can think of them as different windows into a similar structure. They look different, they'll assemble the data a bit different, and might even send slightly different forms--but they're close enough that it's all legible, all interpretable into their formats.

And kbin and lemmy have very similar formats! But it's possible for mastodon (the twitter analogue) to interact with kbin and lemmy as well. Even though they present the data in a different way, with different sorting criteria for your feed, and different ideas on how subscribing to a community or a person works, at the end of the day the formats are very similar: a parent post with a bunch of comments.

and silo'd academia has only gotten 100x worse since then. i can't even imagine how much progress has been lost thanks to greedy academic "journals" keeping anyone from reading their papers, stopping widespread peer review, and destroying scientists' ability to assemble wide bodies of evidence

Completely insane that a judge could order that an entire family's phones be so thoroughly monitored at all. Once upon a time it was a big deal to even get a wiretap.

Second, before he bought twitter, almost everything he said there was him trolling or joking. You had to take everything he said there with a grain of salt. If you wanted to hear his actual opinions on things you needed to either listen to shareholder meeting or watch one of the many interviews he does.

people say the same shit about trump. "take him seriously, not literally." musk is an egotistical moron who will change his opinion day by day, claiming after the fact that anything he said that was blatantly wrong was just a joke

It doesn't look like it's possible in the app. You'd have to log in on a browser, go to your profile settings, and go to the "blocked" tab.

For what it's worth... I think the mobile browser experience is currently superior to Jerboa anyway. The scrolling is smoother and if you open posts in a new tab, you can just close the tab when you're done and you don't wind up back at the top of the feed. I have high hopes for the app but man does it drive me nuts when I try to use it.
