Paramount, Skydance and CBS are owned by Dave Eillison. I believe it's now one company called "Paramount Skydance Corporation".

I really wish there was a way to start a mass migration of all the non-bots from Reddit to Lemmy.

Also Tim Onion brings up a good point about how Twitter can poison the mind of consults and people like that who use Twitter: https://bsky.app/profile/bencollins.bsky.social/post/3maltril6r224

GrapheneOS also has an official Bluesky account. Here's a link to the same post except you don't need to visit that nazi-bar website and don't need to login: https://bsky.app/profile/grapheneos.org/post/3m6fm6vseik27

I got the solution for the X link:

Use a Tweet viewer and you won't need to login. Visiting Twitter directly helps support Elon Musk with ads and tracking.

Just replace x.com with xcancel.com, nitter.net or nitter.poast.org.

Therefore the link would become: https://nitter.net/netflix/status/2002243701436039325

Mamdani gave us a playbook on how we can win big. Be someone who is genuine and honest, fights for us and we will fight for them with lots of passionate volunteers who will go door to door and ensure everyone votes for him/her.

Someone just before you left a comment saying "[The best] Time to get off Twitter [was] when a Nazi bought it.

The second-best time is now.". (source: https://lemmy.zip/post/55517537/23499919)

I agree 100% with that comment. If someone leaves late yes we wish they would have left sooner but we can't go back in time and change that so we must just be happy that they finally left.

I agree that Bluesky isn't a "big tech platform", it's not as big as I wish it were but I do think currently it's the largest competitor that's at-least mostly ethical or far better than the big tech platforms. They recently hit a 41 million user milestone. How can platforms can you name with greater than that many users that is not part of what is commonly considered to be "big tech" (Meta, Google, Twitter, Snapchat, and TikTok)?

Twitter is more egregious than even other big tech platforms and there are major competitors that don't have these AI training terms of services like Bluesky.

Also some people are just slow to change or don't get the news so we have to try everything we can.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. If even a tiny amount of people leave because of this it's a win! Think about it like chipping away at a stone with a chisel and discarding the fragments. If you keep doing it enough one day the stone will be gone.

It is very ironic but I felt it was worded well so that's why I posted it.

I'll admit actually this time I'm in Apple's favor. Personally I don't think there should be any tracking even opt-in but it's good they give people a way to opt-out.

Everyone needs to boycott all companies owned by the Ellisons. Put maximum pressure on CBS News not to go down the same path as North Korea, China, Russia, Hungary's news or not to become yet another Fox News. Call their advertisers and demand they pull their ads until we get guarantees that CBS won't become even more of a propaganda channel or force different ownership.

I found this here: https://bsky.app/profile/matthewdowsmith.bsky.social/post/3ma6wfldigs2g but it's a screenshot from https://nitter.net/AaronRDay I couldn't locate the original Tweet likely because it was posted far back or censored by Musk and I gave up scrolling.

With the 60 minutes broadcast being pulled I think it's super important everyone takes aggressive action against everything owned by the Ellisons because they are doing the same thing that was done in Hungary. The Oligarchs buy up media companies and turn them into propaganda channels for the regime.

I urge a strong boycott against all companies owned by the Ellisons and fierce response against their attempts to turn these stations into propaganda stations.

At a more broad level I think the website should include a media category. It could include bad channels like Fox News and good alternatives like Democracy Now.

I don't read r/conservative much but what I've seen is they keep banning actual conservatives because they correctly call out what Trump is doing on things where it's not about left and right but right and wrong.

Some people are saying that it could be coincidental. OP asks why would the two accounts who post so regularly just happen to both stop at the same time on that day.

You notice the Uline logo in the background. Wonder why JD Vance is standing in front of it? It's because Uline is one of the biggest donors to the GOP. In 2024 they spent over $146 million on Republicans.

Yes, this article is a little old but I really believe it's something we should never forget. Every single person who donated to Trump must be held accountable unless they sincerely change. Every single one of these people should be constantly reminded of all the damage they've done to this country and all their companies should face a complete and total boycott.

Remember: these are the people who helped inflict terror on innocent Americans and people all throughout the world. These are the people who helped cause 600,000+ people to die due to cuts to USAID. These are the people who hurt our economy and made it even more difficult to afford basic goods like groceries. These are the people who helped elect a man who made us all worry each day about what global catastrophe Trump would cause. We must never forget and we must never forgive these people and we must reform our system so large donations like this can never happen again.

I strongly believe that Spotify should be removed as a suggestion and added to the incumbent/boycott category due to the reasons already mentioned in the red warning box. I urge everyone to cancel their subscriptions and when you cancel they will ask why, please mention the reason you canceled is because Spotify gave billions to Joe Rogan who's basically a lie and propaganda factory.

Spotify is a pillar of support for the Trump regime. Spotify's CEO donated $150000 to Trump and hosted brunch for him. He also did the typical billionaire hissy fit threatening to leave Sweden unless they make tax cuts. He's just another right-wing billionaire and not worth your support.

"It wasn’t because Biden voters shifted to Trump—but because so many of them stayed home."

We must not repeat this same mistake again. Remember to always vote in every election and consider volunteering to knock on doors. It can make a difference. There are elections that are decided with just a small number of votes.
