I'm not too upset about MVP, he's a good mouth piece but wasn't necessary to the presentation. But Lashley is so unique, he has a great look, he's fairly good and I get why they gave him mouth pieces but he didn't need one. I liked his Championship run, I've been a believer in Lashley since he was in TNA which I thought was better than his WWE-ECW run.

Maybe TK should let his "independent contractors" unionize and get a collective bargaining agreement, then it would be a thing...

If it were even remotely a real thing it would be in court, not stoking the tribal flames on a podcast.

Interesting, bad for London, good for AEW, I imagine the tax break is pretty good, or maybe it's part of the same deal that has kept Collision in Arlington for the last month and a half.

[-] Brain@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

Well since this he's made like three announcements... one might be a rumor...

  • All In: Texas next year
  • AEW will sponsor Fulham's Womens Soccer team as the shirt sponsor.
  • AEW Stadium show in Australia (the rumor).

What's left... TV, but that's insanely dragged out at this point.

[-] Brain@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

That's going to upset some people in London, I might have waited to announce that until after the show, and I really wonder what England will get next year instead, because you know they aren't giving up those shows completely.

It continues to boggle my mind that NXT's top program for the NXT Championship is Ethan Page and Joe Hendry, only six months ago that would have been unthinkable.

[-] Brain@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

Anything I see that comes off X-Twitter I take with a lot of skepticism, but damn that one was really crazy.

[-] Brain@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

Y'all, there is a crazy batshit rumor from the nitterverse that they are going to rename Judgment Day to... Street Trash. If that's true, somebody needs to steal the golden sledgehammer and bean him in the head with it.

[-] Brain@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 days ago

I see... road rash and broken bones and that's if he's lucky.

What I get out of what happened:

Let's grow and compete...

nah, you're being released and we'll just keep on doing this...

let me buy it then...

no, we like it, just the way it is, but here's a ton of money not to compete with us for a year...

sure, cool, see you around.

No word on what was discussed, but we have also heard some content was filmed to be rolled out via WWE digital as well.

The Hardys are scheduled for this weekend's TNA tapings and are signing today at Wrestlecon's Destination Cleveland.

WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix is no longer under contract to WWE, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.

Phoenix last wrestled for the company in 2023 and had also been working as an announcer.

I copied their headline, but man is it worded dumb when they could just say Beth Phoenix has departed the company. But they wouldn't get a click that way.

PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources that WWE's Ricochet has given notice that he intends to exit the company when his current contract expires this summer. We are told that Ricochet is expected to be written out of WWE storylines very soon in advance of the contract expiration. Ricochet is currently part of WWE's Raw brand.

...

One source we spoke with said they were giving Ricochet "all the credit in the world for betting on himself." One would think he'll quickly be a hot commodity as a free agent.

Kingston suffered a tibular fracture working for New Japan Pro Wrestling several weeks back in California.

Kingston confirmed that he suffered tears to his ACL and meniscus as well. They will require surgery.

While Kingston had hoped to be back by AEW's All In: London, his post-surgery recovery will likely mean he will be out closer to nine months.

Next week's scheduled trial against AEW's Daniel "Cash" Wheeler will not go forward, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

This afternoon, the Prosecutor's office filed "Nolle Prosequi."

The Latin phrase is used in court records as a legal notice that the Prosecution in a legal case has opted to drop and abandon the case. There is no word as to why the Prosecutors made that decision or why it took them until the week before the trial to drop prosecution.

As of this morning, there was a pre-trial hearing set for tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM and a trial slated for 5/20. All of that has been canceled. Wheeler's bond has been released and the case was officially closed as of 3 PM this afternoon.

Amazon is just one of several companies recently accused of turning to encrypted messaging apps like Signal that can permanently erase messages automatically.

You may recall the government making similar arguments about Sam Bankman-Fried’s use of Signal during his trial for fraud and how that verdict eventually shook out. Deleted chats were also a sticking point for at least one juror in Google’s recent courtroom loss to Epic Games and came up in the DOJ’s antitrust trial against Google.

So are they using these trials in their crusade against encryption and having articles like this in hopes of turning the public against it? Because it looks like it to me.

The FTC’s lawyers say Bezos, current CEO Andy Jassy, general counsel David Zapolsky, former CEO of worldwide operations Dave Clark, and other execs are all Signal users. Bezos is identified in the document as “a heavy Signal user” who instructed others to use the app, although the 2018 hacking of his personal cellphone may be part of the reason for that.

Then a few paragraphs later they reveal Bezos has been an encryption fan and user of the service for 5+ years while trying to get others to use it... I get it, Amazon is doing shady shit, but this feels to me like the government is trying to get encryption frowned upon.

TKO Group filed a SEC filing this evening, revealing that all of Vince McMahon's remaining stock in TKO Group are now registered for sale, potentially opening the door for McMahon to exit as an owner if all of the stock is eventually sold.

McMahon currently holds about 5% of the stock and has been greatly selling off stock since his resignation for the company, building a massive cash warchest.

This reeks of the same thing Discovery did when it took control of WB's television and movie production, they canned completed projects, canceled upcoming stuff, and had TV shows like "Final Space" that were out for years erased, all so they could claim a tax break and pocket those billions. What a bunch of frelling bastards.
