but Iran doesn’t have gay rights and oppresses women!

Unlike Israel, the only democracy in the Milky Way that is taking slowly and gradually these away.

The worst thing is not that capitalist has the means of production, the worst is when they don't understand that means of production

I used to work with a sweet Chilean\Lebanese\Russian lady in my previous job, her family migrated after the Pinochet coup to escape the repression.

She told me that her extended family who lives in a village and stayed after the coup had a picture of one family member with Pinochet (she doesn't really understand the circumstance of why the picture was taken but it's probably for propaganda)

post 60s Quebecois art circle\culture is most definitely socialistic even if its aspiration died in the 90s, you can still smell its influence time to time.

We have had a huge influx of Chilean people since then

There is a monument dedicated to Allendes on the site of the world Expo near the Casino

Also Canadians like to shit on the Quebecois for being cringe, but Quebec is the province with the highest bilingualism rate, we actually furfilled our end of the bargain in partaking into Trudeau Sr Canadian bilingual experience, something I can't say the anglo provinces actually do (or the anglos areas in the city that keeps crying and shitting about the French oppression while making 5 times the median income in the province and to campaign finance for the IDF).

Also, Montreal is actually dope because it's the most "European" city in terms of city planning

Tbh, the Revolution Tranquille actually really helped with Quebec's stripping of its more catholic conservative culture and made it more progressive (There is some funny parallel with post 60s Quebec and the democratization of Spain post-Franco). There are some back sliding in recent year, but it's nothing compare to the rest of Canada.

The fact that we speak French probably helps since the conservative ecosystem is mostly anglo centric and when they try to replicate it in French it sounds disconnected.

''I’ve experienced transport being excessively controlled by the Taliban, and I can assure you it sucks. Their IED campaign in Afghanistan’s Helmand province was so deadly effective that the British Army lost its freedom of movement. Admittedly the use of IEDs is an extreme form of traffic fines—but the principle is the same: someone else interdicting your movement. It changes everything. ''
