I'm in USA timezone so hoping the usual YouTube crew posts some good games from this tournament!

Exciting! Is everyone in person for this tournament?

To be honest I've never thought of it as a trademark thing. I know java is a trademark but can't think of other languages that are. I bet all the Microsoft dot net ones are.

I thought the US Government bought a lot of software in Ada, so I hope they continue with that.

Shinden also works on image recognition, so this sounds fine, but I need to read more. Light gun games were some of my favorite in the Arcades, I'll buy this or something like it.

it requires removing parts from an original Super Game Boy cartridge and attaching them to the new board.

I am in awe of the deep technical knowledge in the retro community. I just emulate things and am satisfied. Some take it to new heights, seemingly just because they can.

home pull up help (lemmy.world)

I read that resistance bands on me can help me get going on pull up bars. Is there a specific kind or style or size I should get for these? Thanks all.

My wife & I play 2v2 so we can have fun while collaborating in a game. We've been on the same 2v2 map pool for what feels like forever. It's great to have some new maps.

Sadly, we haven't won a single game since the release! So frustrating!

There's so many providers, and they don't always make it clear when they change hardware. Amazon AWS feels pretty open about it, they are good. I doubt the resource you are looking for will ever exist. You won't be able to make a purchase decision with all the info you want.

Having said that, you did bring a ton of resources together in this post, thank you for that!

I think https://masto.host/ offers what you want, you can pay to host mastodon. I haven’t seen the same for Lemmy.

Please keep working on it, thank you for your effort.

Hey pick something light and easy to make progress on, no grinding RPGs please!

[-] HiddenTower@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

doing that via Lemmy – or any federated platform – wasn’t the right choice.

Yeah, feels like they picked the wrong technology for their community. A phpBB style forum with isolated signup & long-developed moderation tools might have been better for what they want.

I'm sure everyone knows Retronauts, the awesome & long running Retro Gaming Podcast. Hey their website has some cool articles. Right now Stuart Gipp has a series of short reviews for all the games on the Sega Game Gear. It's not complete yet, but it makes for a good resource if you're looking for things to try on that little system.

I've typed in the URL for this website as Lammy a few times by mistake. But it reminds me to play a great PS1 rhythm game!

There are a lot of ways to play the old video games. For me, my favorite way is with one of the little 3rd party retro game devices. I had a RGB10 Max 2 and it was great, but I dropped it and it broke. Im using an RG35XX and it's working great for PS1 and earlier. I'd love to get something more powerful for PS2 games but maybe in the future.

Chat in here about if you have a little handheld or your particular way of playing these great old games!
