Most of the people who have "we the people" plastered on their car probably don't realize the preamble to the constitution also says "insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare".

This headline would imply that PS4 users are upgrading to PS5 at almost the same rate that they upgraded or moved to the PS4.

Honestly, it's pretty surprising considering the PS4 is still kind of a current console. I'd think a lot of people would be satisfied staying with the PS4 and still getting most of the games that are coming out.

The Thunderbolts was good even before the reveal. As someone who knew that spoiler (didn't even realize it was a spoiler), I was in no rush to get there. Plus the reveal is "worth it". Neither was true for Red Hulk in BNW.

L&T had a lot of higher highs. A lot of the scenes with Gorr were legitimately great. The deleted scene with Zeus was so much better than what made it into the movie.

The lows were just so much lower. And it's kind of worse for me that there's such good scenes in a structurally solid movie, that's completely undercut by screaming goats, jealous hammer, and orgy not-really-even-jokes. They could legitimately put 10-20 mil into it and make it a great movie if they wanted.

BNW is fun, the big fight is interesting, but they clearly had no offramp for it. They had no vision with how to use the leader or red hulk. The whole thing is so disjointed, I don't even know how it could be made good. It just sucks that they ruined a couple characters.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I didn't hate it like I did Love and Thunder. But it and L&T have the most wasted potential maybe out of all the Marvel movies.

It'll be a good D+ movie though.

So is the 30% on top of the old 20%, or is this a small parcel specific thing?

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The prohibitively high tariffs are going down. But there's still a 30% tariff tax on U.S. consumers for Chinese goods, up from 19% (Trump 1.0/Biden) and 8% (pre-Trump)

I'm glad I finally got the answer, because apparently there was only 1.

I plan on trying out the PS2 emulator on my phone since I have a Backbone. Maybe when I get my next phone upgrade, my old phone will be a dedicated emulator.

Already got my pre-order in from a month or two ago. And I haven't played Magic in 20 years.

BOOM! Another twofer. I think that's 3 this week.

The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to use an 18th century wartime law to deport Venezuelan migrants, but said they must get a court hearing before they are taken from the United States.

In dissent, the three liberal justices said the administration has sought to avoid judicial review in this case and the court “now rewards the government for its behavior.” Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined portions of the dissent.

House passed legislation Tuesday to avert a partial government shutdown and fund federal agencies through September, providing critical momentum as the measure now moves to the Senate, where bipartisan support will be needed to get it over the finish line.

Republicans needed overwhelming support from their members to pass the funding measure, and they got it in the 217-213 House vote.

Is there no way to delete or report a private message? Is this specific to Connect or Lemmy in general?

I got a weird message and it's just sitting in my inbox.

This is an objective, unbiased ranking in the same vein as the NFL Title Belt. As such, the number 1 ranked team will always be the same as the current NFL Title Belt holder.

This is Conference Week of the NFL Title Rankings of the 2024 season. See here for last week’s rankings.

Like last week, only one of the games were won by the lower ranked team. The only jump was 2 spots. The highest ranked team in the playoffs is the Eagles at number 2. That means that the Super Bowl champion will only reach 2 in the rankings.

The Chiefs jumped 2 spots and are now the lowest ranked team still in the playoffs. Any team ranked lower than 5 will not move again until next season.

The Seahawks will keep the NFL Title Belt and first ranking. Because the Seahawks are not in the playoffs, they will remain first for the offseason.

The Falcons will remain last for the offseason.

Let me know if you’d like to see more of this, if you’re curious about how I came up with these rankings, or if you noticed any mistakes.

The Buffalo Bills called timeout late in the game against the Los Angeles Rams on the goal line. It may have cost them the game and it certainly cost them a better chance at winning the game.
