For me, I hand write checks weekly. That 3 percent credit card fee can add up quickly. Invoice me, and get the total payed at the end of the month. Also handy for person to person transactions, where cash is impractical.

I think you dont understand. To rewrite that card would be a big red buisiness card that says "you are fucked".

Thats it.

Arm yourselves and the people being hunted? Are you fucking kidding? Thats literal ammunition to the opposition. If you had your way, a bunch of illegal immigrants now are using illegal guns to shoot americans.

Your advice legitimizes the "invasion" of the other. It does the opposite of what you want. Your solution galvanizes the right to point and say "see, they are all murderous criminals" get them.

For fucks sake think for a moment. This is the absolute dumbest take ive ever seen.

Over the past 3 months, i have disributed over 1500 red cards. los tarjetas rojas. They explain immigrant rights and what to do if ice shows up. https://www.ilrc.org/red-cards-tarjetas-rojas

In a normal world, thats enough to help protect them. Its a little step i know, but its something i could do to help.

Now it is a lie and i mislead my neighbors and friends. They are not safe.

Next step?

No California Hollywood actor and former head of the screen actors guild will ever be president, because they can’t fake being human long enough with cameras around. The complete lack of experience with anything approaching real life will expose them over and over again.

(You know it sounds silly when you say it for the third time and it still happens...)

Bud im not saying that these words are not bad. I never said they weren't. They are. Im saying that these words have power. Im hoping you get that now, especially now that ive hit a nerve enough, that maybe you can learn off of what you said in your initial comment.

Im asserting that your broad generalizations are equally bad. The spectrum of autism, retardation, and mental handicaps as a whole are so much bigger and more diverse than the assumptions you made. Thats my message. Thats the point im trying to speak. I hope you can eventually see that.

[–] Podunk@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Nah you dont.

The way you are using your narrow minded view of autism and the mentally handicapped is not only highly offensive, its also wrong. I have personally worked with and cared for people on the autism spectrum from the level of "nonverbal infant level" all the way to certified savant. Its a spectrum for a reason. I have also cared for people, for literal years, who are diagnosed retarded that are more capable and more functional than the "normal" people i see at walmart. And also hold steady jobs better than their non deficent coworkers.

Heres a thought experiment for you. If the things you say are so blatantly wrong that you get downvoted, called out, and ignored for your offensive views, but still want to double down, are you yourself retarded?

I dont know you. And i dont know your mental acuity. But i am using that word as an insult. That should answer your question i think.

What? No.

Clearly you do not know anything at all about those two groups or the myriad of different functional levels the can come with those diagnoses.

I guess im confused at the worry about raid...

The point of raid is speed, but also redundancy. And the odds of 2 drives out of 3 failing at the exact same time is super small...

Synologies raid aray can be set up so that if one drive fails, you can replace it with a new drive and carry on. The array is shared in a way that one bad drive doesnt break the entire system. Sure, your 30tb is functionally less, but your data is safe outside of flooding or a house fire. Thats how i understood it.

maybe im wrong. Idk.
