It still usually takes a few days or weeks of dates and text messages for most people to be comfortable having sex with someone they only recently met. Even among incredibly attractive and charismatic men, the same-night hookup is pretty rare.
This sounds really foreign to me tbh. I don't think I know a single person who hasn't had at least 1 same-night hookup? Maybe my experience/exposure is just heavily skewed due to living in a town with a university known for being a "party school"
Sometimes I look up at the stars in the sky and realize wow they're just a bunch of tiny dots and I am enormous
There's no way the average for tall handsome men is that low, right?
“Bars” = the long rectangular 2 mg‑style Xanax tablets
“Pressed” = pills made with a pill press, usually by dealers, often containing different drugs, and sometimes debossed with an insignia
If the pills aren't branded with the dealer's mark, it's odd that they would know it's pressed at all, but they may think "pressed" = purchased without a prescription
I think the point though is that, one way or another, they ended up with noticeably fake xanax but are taking it anyway despite the awareness that it may contain random substances
Tbf this goes both ways though. This administration has conditioned me to assume "masked thugs" & "gang members" = "the good guys"
Oh, well that exists! I forgot about that part of your post.
Marxist psychotherapists use Lacanian psychoanalysis to encourage class consciousness, and I suppose the "disorder" they're treating in this case is referred to as "interpellation."
As an anarchist, I personally have some pretty strong (negative) feelings and opinions about this modality, but it sounds like what you're looking for
Edit: I just remembered we're in an anarchism comm lol
Here's why I don't like it (copied and pasted from something I wrote before):
The focus on dense theoretical frameworks and language/symbolic structures as mediators of subjectivity tends to obscure rather than clarify real mechanisms of power and oppression as experienced by individuals, alienating clients who urgently need practical tools for self-determination and mutual aid within oppressive systems.
More importantly, it seems to inherently reproduce hierarchical, institutionalized patterns within therapy itself, where the therapist positions themselves as an expert interpreter of ideology, rather than facilitating liberatory, horizontal therapeutic relationships.
As practiced within Marxist-influenced circles (as seen on r/leftistpsychotherapists) it appears to be less about empowering individuals or communities, and more about intellectualizing oppression in ways that ultimately sustain elitism and social control mechanisms rather than dismantling them.
Granted, I'm in a position where the only people coming to me for therapy are already radicalized. If I worked with libs/fascists, I might be motivated to find a way to implement Lacanian psychoanalysis in a way that feels less elitist
Edit 2: I'm embarrassed to say I never bothered to look into this from the other side and lowkey just assumed I was alone in this. Check this out! https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/saul-newman-anarchism-and-psychoanalysis#toc3
Replace "veganism" in your comment with "antifascism" and I think you'll see why many vegans don't want to chill about it. In the eyes of vegans, farm animals are experiencing a perpetual holocaust
My partner uses iPhone and got malware from this app
We are not working on weaponization at this time
Lol
Yeah I'm an anarcho-communist now, and I agree with you about almost everything you've said in this comment. However, the changes she made directly resulted in me loosing weight, and the only way to counteract that (for me as an individual) was by spending more money.
- School lunch in 2011 had enough calories for me to maintain my weight
- School lunch post 2012 did not have enough calories for me to maintain my weight
- I was underweight until I got a job in 2013 and could buy extra food
Yes, there are broader systemic issues, but I'm allowed to be mad about the direct, tangible cause of this specific thing I struggled with. I understand that I was collateral damage for something that was mostly a good thing, but the negative way it impacted me is real and my feelings about it are valid
Edit: The calorie limit became 650, from what I read, and I guarantee my school's lunches were significantly below that post 2012- probably 450 max
Oh shit that's an important distinction- I only know one straight man lol
