If you have admin capabilities on your home router, look into ad blocking DNS servers. Not kidding, with 5 minutes of work, you and everyone else's devices in the entire home will no longer see this trash.
Easy as:
- Opening your router config (should be on the bottom of your router, or just go to your wifi settings and paste the "Gateway" IP into your web browser)
- Find an option that mentions your DHCP server
- There should be a box that says "DNS Server" that's likely blank
- Paste in an IP address of a public ad-blocking DNS server (such as AdGuard's;
94.140.14.14) - Save and restart
Done. You can go even crazier with a Pi-Hole and manage your own lists of domains you want to entirely block.
Will this be FOSS? To be honest, I'd be interested, but not while the project being closed-source. As someone else mentioned, providing a public Git repository (such as GitLab or CodeBerg) and getting this onto F-Droid would be a great start.
