All raising prices is going to do is force audiences to choose between games, meaning they buy fewer games.

maybe a shift of consumer indulgence to indie? I feel like this hurts mid-budget games specifically.

on a road trip so spent my time in the passenger seat reading all of Sacred and Terrible Air, it's a bit hard to penetrate initially but it's good

finished Onikakushi-henthis is paranoid hallucinations on Keiichi's end, right? I think I clocked it at the takoyaki needle. Parallel to razor candy delusions.

My hanging question is why Keiichi's death mirrors Tomitake's. Current theory is mass psychogenic illness? Tomitake prompted Keiichi's paranoia and then died like that, maybe Tomitake did something to Takano as Keiichi did to Rena and Mion? The superstitions around Watanagashi might be a self-reproducing phenomenon, though I don't yet know if there’s fallout after the festival like that.

Going to alternate Umineko and Higurashi now, Umi E5 next ~~so I can stay ahead of Joseph Anderson and keep watching his streams of it without worrying about it influencing my read on the episode~~

a-little-trolling we've got all these nukes—all these nukes around. what are we doing with them? not a thing. they’re just sitting there! now the doctor says—he says I’m very handsome, the best he’s ever seen for my age—and I go: "for my age?"

you ever heard of this whole 'death' thing? horrible. horrible. they just told me about it for the first time. he's telling me about it and I go "wow," and I sit there, and you know the first thought I have—it's "how do we let this happen in our beautiful country?"

so I go and I start talking to people, smart people—a little dumb, some of them—but overall very smart. The dumb ones, they go mocking gestures of cowardice oh you can't, you can't defy the divine cycle of life and death, god would be sad—how do they know that, seriously, How Do They Know That? But the smart ones, the smart ones, they bring a lot of books, and they say a lot of weird phrases, a few of which make sense. and we sit and think for a while about what to do about this death thing. rapturous applause we're gonna have it fixed.

first, we’re unbanning CFCs, yes we’re unbanning them. fridges, they’ll be good again. aerosol. good again. we need to soften it. "soften what?" these guys—smart, they’re on the ball. I didn’t even know there was something up there. "what’s up there?" I’ll tell you: we're nuking the firmament! our great, powerful, strong troops, they’re going to go into heaven. and this ends when Heaven is the great, admired, warmly welcomed FIFTY-EIGHTH state! deafening cheers

hold steady and hold strong soldiers of Woke

honestly it's mostly the fact that I want them as refs for my own personal worldbuilding and character writing. I don't trust Google for this so I'm outsourcing the query here.

I want to cut around the psychoanalysis industrial complex that seems to plague that genre of work. I'd appreciate sources for any notable socialist, but there are a few I'm going to name specifically because I'm either looking into them specifically or anticipate getting mired in doing so later:

  • Marx
  • Engels
  • Lenin
  • Stalin
  • Mao
  • Rosa
  • Che
  • Fidel
  • Sankara
  • Gramsci
  • Kim Il-Sung
  • Fred Hampton
  • Malcolm X
  • Ho Chi Minh
  • Trotsky

Some of these I have a general idea of, but it can't hurt to clear up the details. I'd also appreciate any socialist-adjacent (e.g. whatever John Brown was doing) figures as well.
