Hello everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the upcoming winding-down of [RINO](https://rino.io/).

A few years ago we realised Monero was missing critical bits of professional tooling for teams, be it companies, NGOs or fluid groups of individuals. One missing tool we identified was a wallet software that allows multiple users to deal with shared funds in a secure way. Professional principles such as splitting roles among transaction preparers and approvers, hierarchical transaction limits within an organisation etc were not just available for every other large blockchain project, they are the de-facto standard used in the industry.

And so we embarked on a mission to offer similar tooling for Monero, aiming to boost its adoption by the industry at large. This was and remains a worthy and exciting goal, especially as the Monero project is too often delisted or unsupported, often out of regulatory concerns but also because the usual tools expected by the industry are still largely absent.

While we attempted to monetize the platform via paying businesses, we’ve also always offered a free version of RINO so the community benefit from its features. It was not just the main RINO wallet product: many of you will remember using our “community tools” over the years, such as nodes, explorers, faucets, docker images etc. We are very proud of this and grateful to all community members for the nice words over the years.\
Ultimately though, our attempts to monetize the product never bore fruit to a point where the product could sustain itself, and at some point we have to cut our losses. As a consequence, we decided to discontinue the RINO product.

**We will shut down the platform on October 31st, 2024. If you want to withdraw your funds via the** [RINO](https://rino.io/) **platform, please do so until that date. After that date, you will have to use your recovery document, allowing you to access your funds locally.**

Long live Monero, and a big thank you to everyone who supported us. We hope to build more cool things with Monero in the future :)

The RINO team

**PS:** Note that there is a known bug affecting wallets that haven’t been accessed for a long time, due to a synchronisation issue. If you connect for the first time since many months, it is possible your wallet will hang when attempting to send a transaction. If it is the case, just wait \~1h (your wallet will automatically resync on our servers), after which it will be fully functional. This only affects old wallets not accessed for a while, and will only affect them once.

**PPS:** Unfortunately there is no “sweep” feature on RINO. If you want to empty your wallet via the RINO platform it is possible some picoxmr dust remains on your wallet if you do not take exactly into account the transaction fees. Use your recovery document if you want to access remaining dust.

Hope this is ok to ask here - apologies if not.

tldr - my car has tire pressure senors, oil monitor sensor etc all controlled via in the car display system. If I had this changed with a non-oem aftermarket display, do I need to specifically look for one that supports vehicle status sensors? Or is it a matter of just connecting it all and the display will have that information? And will the built in controls still function?

additional context -

I have a Mini Cooper S 2020 F55 with what I believe is a BIS entertainment/in car system. I want to change it out for one that has carplay. When I look online, read any forums, they’re all discussing how to swap the BIS with an OEM mini headunit etc (NBT/EVO whatever). Replacing them looks incredibly expensive - nearing £1000 for everything.

I want to retain all existing functionality - the vehicle status like oil and tire sensors etc.

I have looked at the wireless carplay interrupt units which can add carplay without replacing the display/head unit however it doesn’t seem there is one available specifically for the BIS unit.

Does anyone have any experience or advice? Thanks!

Currently in filters and blocks, all the “Add instance/community/user” are at the bottom of the list. I have a large filter list requiring a lot of scrolling to reach the bottom.

Would it be possible to have this at the top instead?

Alternatively, when selecting a community to block (vis the menu) is there a way to block the whole instance that community is hosted on? Primary use to block instances that are non-english.

House Republican investigators accused President Joe Biden of engaging in “impeachable conduct” as part of a long-awaited report. It’s unlikely to change a reality the party has faced for months: They don’t have the votes to impeach him.

The 291-page report released Monday by the Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means committees comes roughly eight months after Republicans formalized their impeachment inquiry against the president. Their sweeping investigations, largely focused on the business deals of Biden’s family members, have gone on even longer, informally starting around the time they first took the House majority in January 2023.

Republicans on the committees are accusing Biden of two offenses they argue meet the bar for impeachable conduct: abuse of power and obstruction. They’re the same charges that House Democrats cited in the 2019 impeachment against then-President Donald Trump — an inquiry frequently mentioned in the House GOP report.

“The Constitution’s remedy for a President’s flagrant abuse of office is clear: impeachment by the House of Representatives and removal by the Senate,” the committees write in the report, adding they are releasing the report to the House “for its evaluation and consideration of appropriate next steps.”

Seemingly the functionality for setting languages is never used, and a large portion of my new feed is from instances that are language specific (and not the language I speak).

I have set my language to English + Undefined, but it seems no one else can/will set their languages for their posts (leaving them as undefined).

I would like to bulk add these to my blocked instance. I know how to do this.

My question is just - is there a list of instance + language covering the main federated instances?

Gift articles previously were accessible just with the link. The latest article I attempted to read now requires me to first sign up

The article in question https://wapo.st/4fp62oH

I am well aware of many work arounds. The point of this post was to show wapo has changed the way gift articles work, which previously didn’t require a workaround

Im watching the Panorama airing, decided to check out what this scumbag school had to say for themselves. Their statement is infuriating

An undercover investigator failed in her basic safeguarding duties to report significant concerns and had she have done so on day one there would be no television programme

You have ran this school for years, what the fuck

As a team of highly respected education specialists we see no justification whatsoever allowing such incidents to continue; the safeguarding of the children should have come first rather than a television show

YOU ONLY CARE BECAUSE IT WAS ON A TV SHOW

had it been reported like you say, it would have been brushed under the rug

Shut this school down. Jail these cunts.

Conservatives Quickly Turn Against “Idiot” Marjorie Taylor Greene

The Georgia Republican is fast falling out of favor for her opposition to the Ukraine aid bill.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s failed fight to end aid to Ukraine, and her sort-of-serious crusade against House Speaker Mike Johnson, has cost her the support of right-wing media.

The Sunday front page of the New York Post, owned by the conservative Murdoch family, was the latest outlet to attack Greene, invoking the “Moscow Marjorie” nickname coined by former representative Ken Buck.

Fox News, another arm of the Murdoch media empire, had already taken aim at the Georgia Republican last week, with columnist Liz Peek calling her an “idiot” and saying she needs to “turn all that bombastic self-serving showmanship and drama queen energy on Democrats.” This follows an editorial last month from The Wall Street Journal, also in the Murdoch portfolio, that called Greene “Rep. Mayhem Taylor Greene” and accused her and her allies of being “most interested in TV hits and internet donors.”

Even a non-Murdoch outlet is on the attack, as conservative Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Debra Saunders demanded to know “who put Marjorie Taylor Greene in charge?”

House Conservatives Threaten to Block FISA Renewal

  • A faction of the US House Republican majority is threatening to block the renewal of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which allows the government to collect Americans' communications if they're connected to foreigners abroad. FOX News (LR: 4 CP: 4)
  • Those opposed to the bill, including GOP Reps. Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna of Florida and Tim Burchett of Tennessee, are particularly focused on including a warrant requirement to conduct such surveillance. The Hill
  • The FISA database, which many progressive Democrats also oppose, was reportedly improperly searched by the FBI 278K times over several years. However, the FBI and US Dept. of Justice say it's critical for combating drug smuggling, cybercrime, and cross-border crime. Reuters.com
  • While Pres. Joe Biden wants it reauthorized, former Pres. Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for 2024, said to "kill it" because, he alleged, it was "illegally used" to spy on his campaign. However, it was Title I of FISA that the FBI used to improperly spy on Trump campaign advisor Carter Paige. Forbes (LR: 3 CP: 5)
  • If Democrats vote against the renewal, Republicans can only afford to lose two members to win a majority. The Hill

Pro-establishment narrative:

  • Section 702 has been a crucial tool for law enforcement and there are more than enough FBI policies to ensure the government can fight crime while safeguarding Americans' privacy. A warrant requirement, however, would prevent the government from efficiently doing this and put national security at risk.
WASHINGTON POST (LR: 2 CP: 5)

Establishment-critical narrative:

  • In addition to leaving out a warrant requirement, this bill expands the government's Section 702 capabilities — making it too easy to violate citizens' right to privacy. Surveillance hawks seem determined to end privacy in America as we know it.
