I once heard “they will eventually do the right thing … after trying all the wrong options”. I think it was about the US or EU though.
Maybe they believe sponsoring the far-right in Europe will give them enough influence soon enough? That sounds like too much long-term thinking for Trump but Rubio, Vance, and Thiel might go for such a scheme.

Even if Trump is gone in three years, the MAGA people are still there and so is Vance, Thiel, Musk, and others. That doesn’t sound very reassuring to me.
