Yeah I've seen it go both ways before. Ideally they just send out some blanket memo "reminding people of our policy on $x" and everyone who may be doing something even a little questionable wonders if it's about them and adjusts their behaviour.

I actually just had that this week - we had a team thing and our director reminded us about "team norms" and blah blah, and I knew exactly why he was doing it, and who and what the real problem was - but other random people started showing up to meetings on time and such - because they all thought "oh crap, did someone complain about me?"

But, as said, you have zero control over what they do, so sadly it could go either way.

Coffee delivery. I use a fairly consistent amount, so I don't get as overloaded/running out as some other things I've tried to subscribe to - and it lets me bypass "big grocery", and get better quality product directly from the roaster/blender.

I mean, on the one hand, I can kinda see it ... I did a lot of bad shit I likely wouldn't have otherwise done, in my room, behind a closed door, when I was around your age, and from your posts, I gather in roughly the same mental and emotional state.

You need to get some professional help, and they may steer you to some needed meds. I didn't know I needed anti-depressants until I was like 33 or something, and I've been on them many, many, many years since, because my brain just isn't quite wired the same way as a normal brain. I can't even begin to imagine how different my life could have been were this identified and addressed when I was still your age.

It's worth pursuing, if you're able. Things can get better.

This was absolutely my thinking in the couple/few years I had Xiaomi and Oppo hardware. CCP doesn't know or care who I am.

Of course, no one spying on me is even better, so when I found out about Graphene I dumped my Find N5 at a pretty staggering loss to jump to that. Super anxious for them to start supporting non-Google hardware (last estimate I saw was late 2026/early 2027.)

Yep! Got the same headline from another outlet in my feed this morning and I zeroed right in on that.

I used to love doing that. The gym is so much quieter and empty at that time too. It was messing with my sleep though getting myself that amped up that late at night :(

Thank you. My day has been made.

Almost had coffee come out my nose too!

In the end I reverted to finding a copy someone else had encoded if possible

This. If I own the media already - their backup, my backup, makes no difference, I'm legally entitled to it (in my country at least.)

Wild! I think I got heavy into TCG the very next year, even going to regional tournies and such, but I'm only seeing this for the first time today.

CBC is exposing the Canada to Israel Charity Pipeline.

On Friday October 17, CBC's The Fifth Estate will release "Funding the Occupation." They are following “the trail of millions in Canadian tax-deductible charitable donations [that] are supporting Israeli settlements deemed illegal under international law."

In 2024 alone, Canadian charities sent at least $222 million to Israel. This is only the amount they reported on their "Schedule 2" as money being sent out of country. This does not necessarily include all donations to qualified donnees or registered charities in Canada, who then send the money to Israeli institutions. So we expect the figure is closer to $400 million, based on an analysis which identified $100 million in donations to Israeli universities and their associated Canadian orgs in 2023.

Watch "Funding the Occupation" on or after October 17, 9pm on CBC-TV, YouTube (https://buff.ly/qSE8WdJ), or CBC Gem (https://buff.ly/WBJUJYQ).

He's apparently been a nuisance in the nearby gardens. Pictured here plotting his next move I do believe.
