That joke makes me remeber the time I helped my friend move into his 8th floor condo. He has an oversized black leather sofa that didn't fit in their elevator and we had to take it up the stairs and if it was any bigger it would not have made it up the stairs at all.

Each flight of stairs required us to remove the hand rail, slowly carry it up the flight, then precisely lift and pivot onto the next landing and ready for the next flight, replacing the hand rail, and repeating the process a total of 16 times. I told him that when he leaves that place the sofa is either leaving via the window, chainsaw, or sold with the condo.

Bosch makes a few descent models.

Things to skip on all brands.

External water & ice dispensers, doesnt matter the brand. You're cutting a fucking hole in the thermal envelope to put a faulty device that's experiencing mechanical stress on parts every time you open/close the door. It's not a matter of if it will fail, but when. Also, increased operational cost. Internal water dispensers and automatic ice makers are always the better option if you want those features.

Smart features. Why the fuck do you need smart features on a fridge? Even if it's using AI vision to scan for inventory... Just no, fucking no. That's more personal data on you to be bought, sold, data breached, and utilized to fuck you somehow.

Fridges that split the freezer and fridge on a vertically.

Orange is just brown, with context.

Aptera might be the closest think to "Open Source" we might get.

The owner and creator plans on providing all schematics, operational code, and components. Including QR codes etched on everything to easily be able to find the specific info for any given part.

It's been a while since I've done a deep dive into them, but maybe it's time to do so again.

Escuse me, but I'm aging at just the right rate. Not rapidly, not slowly, but exactly as the universe planned it as we hurtle through time and space on our planet size space ship.

So, back to hand written reports, and physical books only found at the library?

Democrats are agasint the 2nd Ammendment? That's a new one.

Democrats wanting to work within the 2nd Ammandment to regulate a "well regulated militia" is another story.

The framing of Democrats being against the 2nd Ammendment is right wing (and the now defunct Russian fund pipeline: NRA) fear mongering.

More of an ill formed sphereoid than a taco.

Yes, hence the second part of the sentence.

Unless you need to use the precise word for communicating the "context difference", just use the word impact(ed/ing/s). Makes it a lot easier for ESL speakers as well.

Even then, most people can understand the meaning of the misused word due to the context of what's being discussed anyways.

Games still crash on windows for multiple monitors, or launching in full screen for the first time, and more. Often without an error message without digging into event viewer or game logs.

And TBH, once you learn how to troubleshoot on Linux, it's actually quite informative. For instance, I resolved a cryptic error message being returned by steam on game launch by launching steam from the CLI and then used the steam gui to launch the game and was given live event stream logging.

Once there's better GUI tooling and and more passionate techs with a design/UX passion join the community, I can only imagine how seamless things will get.

Weirdos from the top to the bottom.

Former President Donald Trump has drawn the ire of another musical group for unauthorized use of their music. This time, it's the Foo Fighters.

Trump played the band's song "My Hero" when he welcomed former independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the stage at a rally in Arizona on Friday[...]

[...]The spokesperson added that any royalties received as a result of the Trump campaign's use of the song will be donated to the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz.

Trump owes millions from two civil court cases, but his investment portfolio offers a staggering portrait of wealth.

Donald Trump has submitted his annual financial disclosure, and after a year of lawsuits, legal cases, and grifts, the contents of the documents reflect the turmoil surrounding the former president...
