Hmm I think this is might be different based on which part of the world. I think there are many anarchists out there that dont call themselves a communist.

Answer to Won't there be a danger of a "tyranny of the majority" under libertarian socialism? in the anarchist faq.

My own take:

Also its important to see anarchy not as an utopian society where every problem already has an answer. Sadly shitty things will still happen and assholes will still be assholes. Regarding discrimination based on a minority identity, I think an anarchist society atleast gives the oppressed minority the best chances to deal with it, as there is no central power that they have to overcome, they themselves should have similar access to ressources and people having a general libertarian mindset.

Also I would hope people would have acxess to education that made them realize that discriminating against for example queers is absolutely hurting themselves somewhat

In order to protect any minority from a majority you need some kind of systemic power structure in place that can punish or at least disincentize people from discriminating, even when they are part of a majority group.

In your example this power structure would be the first thing the cishets would want take over to opress queers. This would be so much more powerful to oppress minorities than anything they would have in a potential anarchist future.

Way to go ignoring hundreds of arrests, violent police and the possibility of democrats deploying the national guard as they have done in other situations.

They would have called the national guard if they thought it was necessary. Instead hundreds of arrests happened, police was payed by the pipeline company and this photo was taken, which really reminds me of OPs image with those sticks and aggressive posturing:

You are talking as if the choices made are the only reasonable ones regarding the things that previously happened.

Have you thought about using image descriptions for your posts?

In case you need more details how & why, here is an introduction regarding this.

Protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline. This article might be referencing the situation seen on the image. (Wasnt there so I am.not 100% on this)

So it would have been different under a democratic state leadership? How many pipelines were allowed / supported by democrats and how many were stopped by them?

This we get to have cyberpunk 2077 in real life, so I am thankful to the CCP.

I want to easily follow podcasts I enjoy and listen to them and also dont want to do this via spotify... How do you keep yourself updated on the Podcasts you like?

I am asking now, because I just used to visit the channelzeronetwork where the newer episodes of podcasts were playing or were shown on the main page, but now its not showing any new episodes anymore.

Yeah basically the title. A group I am part of does not really see all the "unorganized" anarchists as part of their potential partners for action&projects. Thats why I am looking for experiences, examples and even theoretical texts that explore the cooperation of these different flavors of anarchism.

In the video essay I previously posted - what even IS hierarchy? - by AnRel, AnRel(they/she) claims that there are (among others) prescriptive and descriptive hierarchies in non-monogamous relationship networks. From what I understood:

  • Prescriptive means things like primary/secondary, marriage etc where one relationship might have power over the other relationship via agreements, enforcing rules, vetos etc. This seemingly results in a hierarchy that works through power (one of the 3 main components of hierarchy they propose)

  • Descriptive means putting current structures of relating into words, kinda describing what the current state is (like "I have 2 anchor partners, I spend X amount of time with them, one is also my nesting partner, I also have a comet)" so people are able to choose if they want to enter a relationship with these existing dynamics. They argue, that there is still a hierarchy in play, this time on the axis of priority (another on of the 3 main components of hierarchy they propose). So some relationships have prioritized access to ressources / time / attention etc.

  • The part of the video I am talking about starts at 14:30

AnRel seemed to be opposed to both kinds of hierarchy. While I can easily understand and actively try to dismantle the first one, the second one - "descriptive hierarchy" - is something I can see in my, its hard for me to see how its a negative / authoritarian thing. I struggle to see ways to dismantle it, how it would look without this kind of "ranking of priorities" and how I & my relationship would benefit from it.

Anyone here has some experience to share / opinions on this?
