Every generation is a reaction both to new material conditions and to the errors of the previous generations

For me political and school related organizations were great but any form of social work helps. You don't have to go to a bar or a club, you can tend to a community garden or volunteer at a canteen. The first start to meeting people is finding an environment you feel comfortable ti meet them in imo

I am really glad and very priveleged to have been diagnosed with ADHD. However, I worry that my official diagnoses might put me in danger soon

maybe they're just on a different level cause they're from the best country in the world and are the best/most capable people in the world.

You're joking right? Lol

Assuming this is serious a lot of Americans suffer from social anxiety but if we want employment we have to pretend to not be that way. We can also be heavily judged by others for introversion. The extreme extroverts you meet are like that because that's what it takes to survive. For some it comes easy but not for all of us.

Other commenter gave a good answer but I can provide some alternative answers and/or fill gaps. First, I recommend reading Reform or Revolution by Rosa Luxembourg as this discussion has been had for over a century. The main issue is that you cannot reform into socialism, you can only reform to a point. There are people who's positions of power entirely depend on the domination of the working class, on their ownership of production. They won't give that up just because the workers vote for it, even if it is very popular. Why would they? They control the military, the food, the water, the electricity, our communication, even the information we receive. Reform can get you concessions, but it will never grant you freedom from the shackels of wage slavery because the capitalists depend on your servitude for their wealth and power.

As for how viable revolution is in the imperial core. It isn't. We don't stand a chance of revolting anytime soon as things stand. Its foolish of us to think the workers revolutions will begin here anyway. They will start in the periphery, especially Africa imo but also Latin America and Asia. Our goal here is to prepare a organization for when our revolutionary moment occurs, when the people have been made desperate by the loss of their portion of the imperial plunder. We should build trust by working closely with unions for workers rights, we should feed the homeless, provide financial assistance to the poor and fight for social equality so that people know who will actually assist them in a crisis. We should also prepare our organization to function as an interim government when the time comes.

You form a union and bargain with your employer. Thats about it though

Like feds at my door type shit. Y'all ever think about that. I've said some wild shit on here actually and I am realizing I should probably be concerned about it. Hby?

Read and watched all the source material today. It has officially been 41 hours of not sleeping. I literally ended it talking about the symbology of cubes (in reference to the Kaaba) and its either fire or the worst essay I have ever wrote.

and no I am not sharing that shit lol. How is y'all's experience with academia this finals season?

Specifically looking for early dynastic China but all periods are welcome.

My room is basically empty except for my bed, computer/desk, birdcage, and fan. It even has grey walls lol. This is mostly because my preferred horde is old books and they are pretty expensive so my collection is small. I also like maps, historical trinkets/artifacts, and indegenous art but I am unemployed lol.

I don't dislike what I currently have but I do wish I had unorganized stacks of books everywhere (if only my bird would not poop on them)

I am chuggin gin tonight (not an extended pattern of behavior to be clear) and honestly wtf. Everything is so cruel to the extent that it is almost rediculous.

So, I am a history student and tbh, the absurdity of modern class struggle is becoming fucking unreal to me. I genuinely cannot grasp how the bourgeois sleep at night. Like wtf. The human capacity for indifference is unfathomable. I am watching a video by coffeezilla where he covers the failure of a "bank", which is technically not a bank, that caused a bunch of people to lose 10s of millions of dollars collectively. Maybe being raised by labor aristocrats sheltered me from the inhumanity of capitalism and thats why this fucks me up so bad but one guy losts thousands of hours of his life to this shit. They're just fucking gone. How is this normal, how do most people accept this as their reality. I am honestly impressed by the docility of the working class in the imperial core. I think if I dropped a sumerian peasant into the modern United States they would immediately identify our society as fucked up beyond belief the moment they understood it.

idk where I expected to go with this post. shits just fucked up tbh and I cannot grasp why I see it and others don't. I have little material reason to do so, yet I do and so many others who have a material reason to realize this do not. I think I will smoke tonight and watch an ancient history documentary.

edit: tangentially related but finding you guys made me hopeful for the world, thank you for being sane

How was time in isolation? Any struggle sessions I missed?
