Afaik Teams is just Skype for Business rebranded with a new UI and more features so the spirit lives on

Still it is impressive how Microsoft managed to kill a voip & messaging service that had established itself to the point where you would use the brand name as a verb (at least in some languages)

Def agree but the experience may vary greatly from "best you ever had" to "dfq this is trash" depending on the freshness of the pineapple and the skill/determination of the cook. Like pineapple pizza is hard to get right but if you get it right it's extremely good

Whenever I encounter long compound words in German I always use the - camelcase writing style (idk the actual word for it).

So you go from Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher to Eierschalen-Sollbruchstellen-Verursacher which is still long af but imo better to read and perfectly legal.

D-Day ging nach hinten los? Mit dem Angriff Steiner wird das alles in Ordnung kommen!

Windows 11-24H2 installations with certain update statuses can no longer install further updates. Only a manual correction will help.

Last Christmas, a problem with Windows 11 24H2 installations became known that they cannot install further updates if they were installed from an installation medium with certain update statuses. Microsoft has now given up looking for an automated solution to this problem or developing a fix-it tool – The only option available to those affected is manual correction.

Microsoft has confirmed this decision by setting the entry in the Windows Release Health announcements to "resolved". Specifically, the problem description is that a Windows 11 installation on version 24H2, which was installed from a CD (sic) or USB drive with integrated October or November updates from 2024, can no longer install any further security updates. This also includes media created with the Windows Media Creation Tool at those times. However, installations that have downloaded the updates via Windows Update and applied them do not have this problem.

Windows update dropouts: only manual solution available

The entry on the problem from Microsoft has had the status "resolved" since the end of last week. However, it still only contains the previous workaround as a solution: The problem can be solved by overinstalling with an installation medium that contains at least the security updates from December 2024 – i.e. was created from December 10, 2024 –. Microsoft does not mention a fix-it tool, script or other options, such as registry changes.

Such an updated medium can be created with the Windows Media Creation Tool, which is available on Microsoft's Windows 11 download website. This either downloads an ISO file that can be transferred to DVD or creates a bootable USB stick with the Windows installation; this should have at least 8 GB of space.

According to German newspaper "WELT" the investment group "emodrom Group" purchased 74,99% of the Hockenheimring from the local municipality. It now wants to invest 250 million Euros (~275 million US Dollars) additionally to the 40 million it has already spent to make the venue fit for the future. Planned are the construction of a 30.000 to 50.000 m² big motorworld, an expansion of the "Porsche Experience Center" and a new hotel.

When asked about a possible return to the F1 calendar, Hockenheim managing director Jorn Teske, explained that the Hockenheimring had always had contact with F1 but that they are planning to make a "slow and serious" return. Tim Brauer, head of the emodrom Group added "We need to ensure that we won't run into a deficit." Brauer further explained that in other countries the nation or federal state is happy to sponsor F1, something that hasn't yet been the case for the Hockenheimring. "We are thinking in terms of 20 to 25 years - and not short-term" Brauer concluded.

In case of an F1 return the circuit would have to meet F1's new criteria including 4000 - 5000 VIP seats instead of the 2000 that are already in place, fan zones, places for concerts, camping spots, etc. An expanded or entirely new pit lane building is also in the talks.

Edit:

I wrote "Tim Brauer, head of the emodrom Group, explained that the Hockenheimring had always had contact [...]." but it was in fact Jorn Teske who said that so I corrected it.
