everyone is having so much fun dunking on my tiedfor3rd favorite admin and im feeling left out so how about this hows this for gatekeeping try this on for size

the only valid gender is patriot

from now on patriot will only refer to others with patriot/patriot pronouns although patriot know what this patriot really likes to say i and also patriot know what sounds stupid so i think existing colloquial expressions get a pass and i guess any one/thing/system that identifies with some invalid identity and specifies a preference for a pronoun besides patriot gets a pass too okay so lets break this down

  • the only valid gender is patriot
  • im keeping my first person pronouns due to being exceptional
  • colloquial expressions are exempt
  • invalid identities are allowed

the gendered distinction between so called men and so called women and other such things is woke nonsense because listen youre either a patriot or not a patriot and thats that unless you feel strongly about some other identity thats fine too

But have you ever heard of womanwalking?

It's known to happen when two or more women are walking down a pathway, engaged in conversation. They must walk parallel with each other, and everyone else trying to share the pathway be fucked. These womanwalkers will often look you in the eye as they force you off the pathway.

This is crazy. Disney is claiming that a wrongful death lawsuit cannot go forward (paraphrasing):

“sorry, your husband signed up to a Disney+ trial a couple of years ago, hence they accepted T&Cs that clearly stated that any dispute about our products should go through arbitration rather than through courts”.

Even if a consumer carefully reads the terms and conditions, how could they reasonably expect the ToS for a video game would affect the terms they are under at a Disney restaurant? That’s fucking nuts.

Future parents: “sorry kids, you cannot play that video game because there is an arbitration clause and one day you might want to visit Disney’s amusement parks.”

I’ve boycotted Disney for over a decade because of how conservative the corp is and how right-wing extremist they are with politics. IIRC Disney financed the campaign of a politician looking to eliminate background checks on firearms. Indeed, the company who entertains kids is happy to fight against basic gun control. So when Disney pulls a dick move like this arbitration clause it just reinforces the idea that boycotting Disney is the right move.

(edit) wow the ups and downs of the votes are interesting. ATM 9 up & 9 down. Can’t help but wonder who are these anti-human people who are happy to lick the corporate boots of Disney.. capitalist fanatics disappointed that people would object to arbitration clauses perversely applied so broadly? I have to wonder if loyal Disney employees are following this thread.

I waited so long to come forward and tell my story because I didn't think anyone would believe me. But now I want people to know what happened to me, because if knowing what happened to me could prevent it happening to them, then I want them to know.

In the wake of last November’s election, many Democrats blamed low turnout for Kamala Harris’s defeat.

It wasn’t entirely without reason, as turnout dropped in Democratic areas, but many months later it is clear the blame was misplaced. Newly available data, based on authoritative voter turnout records, suggests that if anything, President Trump would have done even better if everyone had voted.

The new data, including a new study from Pew Research released Thursday, instead offers a more dispiriting explanation for Democrats: Young, nonwhite and irregular voters defected by the millions to Mr. Trump, costing Ms. Harris both the Electoral College and the popular vote.

The findings suggest that Mr. Trump’s brand of conservative populism once again turned politics-as-usual upside down, as his gains among disengaged voters deprived Democrats of their traditional advantage with this group, who are disproportionately young and nonwhite.

For a generation, the assumption that Democrats benefit from high turnout has underpinned the hopes and machinations of both parties, from Republican support for restrictive voting laws to Democratic hopes of mobilizing a new progressive coalition of young and nonwhite voters. It’s not clear whether Democrats will struggle with irregular voters in the future, but the data nonetheless essentially ends the debate about whether Ms. Harris lost because she alienated swing voters or because she failed to energize her base. In the end, Democrats alienated voters whose longtime support they might have taken for granted.

The post-election studies aren’t perfect, but they all tell the same story: Nonvoters preferred Mr. Trump, even if only narrowly. None show Ms. Harris winning nonvoters by the wide margin she would have needed to overcome her deficit among those who turned out.

If you look at modlog, you'll clearly see I've never had any history of infraction at LW.

I've never been anything but clear that I am not Dr. Wesker.

The name of this account was a tongue-in-cheek jab at Dr. Wesker, who was previously removed as a moderator of this community, because he wasn't responding to the myriads of reports the posts and comments in this community receive.

I regard this ban as a hostile and overreaching attack on the platform as a whole.

Lemmy.world has clearly homogenized a large subsection of the Lemmy fediverse, and now they throw this weight around to deafen and disconnect all of their local userbase from people of other instances that they decide from on high are "persona non grata."

I am aware what Dr. Wesker was banned from LW for.

Conversely, I suggest that Lemmy.world administrators themselves have weaponized the current technical misgivings of the Lemmy federated platform.
