I am looking for using open source software as much as possible. The posted link is a nice source for open source software for the iphone. Unfortunately there are a lot of apps you have to build. I read that you need mac for this. I own an iphone, ipad and watch but no mac mini or apple laptop. I only have linux and windows. So what would be the lowest budget way to buy a device where i can build those iOS apps? I guess a refurbished or used mac mini? What are the minimum requirements? Do you have recommendations?

The question is in subj. Recently switched to Apple infrastructure and witch my attention span got a problem. When I left my watch behind I would like my phone to remind me of that. Can I do it?

I wanted to share with the community an iOS shortcut I created to remove exif metadata from images - Remove Image Metadata.

To use the shortcut, select photos, select the share button, and then select the shortcut name. The shortcut will remove the exif data from each selected image, and save them as new images with new names.

I use this shortcut before uploading images to apps and websites so the images do not include metadata identifiers for my device. The screenshot with the post was generated using the shortcut.

If anyone has suggestions for improvements, please let me know.

There was a post recently for how to bypass paywalls and one of the suggestions was to prefix 12ft.io to the url.

So I created a shortcut in iOS to do just that and that can be used directly in Safari from the share sheet.

Instead of sharing the shortcut through iCloud, I’ve posted the screenshot here so you can create your own. After creating the shortcut, click on the Share button on any website with a paywall, select the shortcut name, and the website would open in a new window without the paywall.

Hi All, I’m a quite new and delighted user of a HomePod. I listen often to a very large public radio in Belgium: « RTBF La Premiere », and wish to listen to it on the HomePod even if my iPhone is not around.

The radio, despite being well known, is not displayed in Apple Music (from my understanding because they are not on TuneIn, but I might be wrong). Some other stations from RTBF are there, but not this one, their « main » one.

They publish the URL of their web radio, I’ve tried to include it in an iOS shortcut, create a custom playlist containing that feed, … and never succeeded.

Would you be so kind to help me get my HomePod play that radio?

Their URL is: https://radio.rtbf.be/lapremiere/mp3-160/me which seems to redirect to https://redbeemedia.streamabc.net/redbm-lapremiere-mp3-160-7134387?sABC=648nps41%230%235896001pq8821rrqr957sp0r7n49ns09%23zr&aw_0_1st.playerid=me&amsparams=playerid:me;skey:1686818625

Thank you so much!

I fail to see the purpose of a MacPro over a Mac Studio.

I know it has pci slots, but can someone tell me how they will realistically be used? Used in a way that can't be done with thunderbolt.

The pricing seems absurd compared to a Mac Studio.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way, or an app, that allows me to record calls. In my country, it is legal to record calls with single party consent (ie, only I have to consent). My job requires me to make phone calls, and it is important that what is said in the call can be verified at a later date if it is ever challenged.

Any help is appreciated :)
