This really has "30 year old trying to write college aged characters" energy. With a healthy dose of Tumblr fan fic writing thrown in there.

Are you saying it's fake and gay?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 13 points 3 months ago

Fake and... Fake gay?

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 13 points 3 months ago

Careful, those boys will come after you

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 21 points 3 months ago

You seem to think I, of all people, would post quality content.

If it makes me smirk, it ends up on Lemmy.

Haha, yes. This is also every Zoomer Marvel/DC writer when they try to write teens.

Sweet. Really fucking weird.

Things can be two things at once.

Their explanation is way too weird. I think we can use occam's bisexual razor here:

I would bet that at least one of the hand holders is gay/bi and too afraid to say it... Which is fine. Sometimes it takes a bit of time (and handholding) to figure yourself out.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 14 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Physical contact between men being sexual is a cultural thing. Handholding is intimate, but not at all sexual... It's totally normal to do it with children for fucks sake

If you get past the cultural weirdness, it's just normal

[–] Xerxos@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yes, it's a cultural thing. In our culture. Hence why I interpreted as such. If the whole thing had happened in the UAE that would be a different thing.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 1 points 3 months ago

Culture gets hyper specific - individual groups can and do challenge cultural norms all the time, especially teens and young adults

Or someone's lying on the internet...

Sad that the immediate assumption is friends can't hold hands πŸ˜•

[–] AugustWest@lemmy.world 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They can’t. As grandma always used to say, β€œif fingers are interlockin’, you gotta stick your cock in.”

[–] sleep_deprived@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 3 months ago

I have you tagged as "knows chemistry". I'm sure I meant the science, but I'll choose to trust you on this too.

Unrelated to the post and only focusing on the title, whenever anyone uses the πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ emojis, the only thing that comes to mind is the "middle-out" sequence in Silicon Valley
