Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is a humorous fantasy role-playing adventure game by Lori and Corey Cole, creators of the acclaimed Quest for Glory series. As the Rogue Shawn O'Conner, players will make friends, explore a haunted castle, and use their Rogue skills for fun and profit.

Personally, I enjoyed the game a lot and loved the references to the Quest for Glory Games. But I missed the ability to choose a character class and customize the character. Also, while the game has many areas that unlock gradually (I think it is bigger than most QFG games), I still felt constrained by the game. I wish I could go out and explore the city, for example.
Still, I would recommend it to the Quest for Glory fans.

SimCity classic improved

StepMania is a Foss cross-platform rhythm video game and engine.
It is a clone of dance dance revolution, though it can be customized to emulate other dancing games as well. It supports custom themes and characters. Since it is a free game, it does not come with its own songs, so new songs need to be added manually. There are some websites that provide songs that can be added to stepMania.
Unfortunately it has not been updated for some time, from what I can see in their forums the last update was released 7 years ago.

Black Castle is a platforming game for the Game Boy. You control a knight who has to go through a castle to defeat an evil warlock. During his Journey through the castle, the knight can equip different weapons, discover secret areas and fight evil bosses. It is a good game with crisp graphics and reminds a bit of a good Castlevania game. You can play the game for free on itch.io or order the game on a real Game Boy Cartridge from here.
