Today’s game is some more Halo. I’ve actually been challenging myself to not do Halo for these just because of how much I do it (plus I’ve been busy adoring Alan Wake which helps). I made an exception today partly because I just wanted to relax with friends.

We did a forge game today that was Rainbow Road from Mario Kart Wii. I think our general consensus was that while this one had merit, the Halo physics just made it not fun to play. It was too faithful of a recreation to work with the physics.

We also did a game mode titled “Get out of my House” where we had to fight zombies off out of the “house”. It was fun, it definitely felt like it favored the defenders though which was a major issue.

Of course, while we did have fun with Get out of my House, we decided to wash it down with something we knew was a good time. Hence that brought us to Zealot infection. I don’t need to say much about this one. The map is basically perfect. The only issue is the roof top area is very easy for people to camp on, and I think I have an idea to counteract that in forge.

I ended up losing by 4 points. it was a pretty close match all around, so even if I didn’t nab second place I think everyone else would have been dangerously close.

That brings us to our final match. Just some slayer on Oni Sword Base. It’s like the White Bread option. It’s reliable, fun, and is just good however you do it. I got payback for the last match and won by 5 points.

That’s about all we got up too, there was a Halo 3 match we did too but that went by so quickly there’s not much to talk about. Tomorrow I think I’ll play some more Alan Wake 2. I have something I want to try out so I’m eager to get back to it.

Little Summary of the game

Reanimal is a survival horror game, stealth game, and a cinematic platformer. The story follows a brother and sister as they try to escape a hellish version of their home while attempting to save their three friends. The two must work together, explore the islands, escape from monsters, and solve various environmental puzzles in order to progress.

Honestly I couldnt afford to play it myself but I did watch Jackseptieye's full playthrough. I very much enjoyed trying to piece together the story as many people call it the sequel Little Nightmares should have gotten. The art style and animations were beautiful. all enemies seem very much well animated and thrilling to see to have the player gripping the control for their dear life. Jack also mentioned that the haptec feedback really made him feel like he was in the realm which sounds exciting.

spoilerParts I very much enjoyed seeing:

  • The seen where the skinsuit guy riding the bike was hilarious and very much unexpected. That's true circus comedy imo.
  • Seeing all those buildings collapsed during explosions and chase scenes were a sight to see. It really made them feel very immersive when a players is locked into the game.
  • The glow gratual evolution of the sheep overtime and the connection to the girl, the enemies to the very end when it becomes its own boss that basically restarts the loop all over again.
  • The tank being used at the end was awesome. Nothing more to be said.

Now things I wish I was more of:

  • We didnt get much out of the underwater horse looking enemy. All that happend was we took his eye and ran with it as we are being chased. I don't even thing he died becasue all we saw is that we took the eye and ran strait to the whale and never deal with e seach horse again. (idk if he even was a horse)
  • I want to see more of the whale becasue that dude was long but he only unrolled a but and left off with some of himself still a bit folded. hopefully game asset hunders will dig up so we can see more.

He didn't get the secret ending tho. At least not yet. I actually saw that through another YouTuber - Gamersault. It left me with more questions. My theory did match his everything being a planned sacrifice of the girl with the only difference I have a belief of a reason why they did such a thing. I belive they did this is because they possibly promised a ticket to free their souls. After finding the coffins, we leaned how the boys have all died:

  • bay head was hanged
  • hood got shot
  • bucket fell off a ledge
  • bandage stepped on a landmine The last coffin was not of the girl but her pet rabbit as a lure. She ends up seeing the rabbits corpse at the end where she is standing a summoning circle and latter bagged up to be thrown into a well. It can't be told if they truly got their freedom but it does seem like the cycle will be repeated as the well starts to over flow with her body floating up like it did at the begining of the game.

An alternate theory I have is when she got eaten. She started to see the the sacrifice that was made when they were all alive as she does deeper into the sheeps stomach. My only possible evidence is the setting the boys were in where it was done is a cabin then a well inside the cave which didnt match with the sheeps stomach since we entered the somach with her and all we have saw was nothing but deep red lighting and wet inner flesh/ stomach intestines or whatever.

Thats all I got, Tell me your thoughts if any. Would like to hear your take :)

It's honestly kinda crazy how long some games spend in development. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is a perfect example of something that should've been quick but ended up being so bloated and took forever to make.

FF7Remake was announced in 2015, got stuck in development hell for a bit, released 2020. The sequel released 2024. The third one still hasn't been teased yet. How many people are attached to a franchise if it takes 10 years to get the full story? I loved the first remake but dropped the second one, I just didn't care about the story as much as I did ~5 years ago.

Today’s game is some more Alan Wake II. I was playing with lighting and portraits to practice some stuff we had gone over in my Photography class. I got this one of him illuminated by the projector light I really liked.

There was also this one I grabbed on the stage of Door’s talk show, I got it to contrast with the warmer lighting of the other one. Kind of get a matching pair of that makes sense.

Speaking of Door’s talk show, or more so the area around it, when I exited I saw this sign that said OD Diner. At first I thought it was a reference to Alan’s addiction problems, but if I remember correctly he just had a drinking problem.

Then I realized, “duh. It’s Oh Dear Diner dumb ass.” It makes sense because it’s a dream world, which is random neurons firing off. So obviously it’s his brain (or more so the dark place) reusing his memory of the Oh Dear Diner.

I also got the privilege of discovering my PS5 controller I bought purely for PC gaming is now deciding it wants to drift. In this elevator I got stuck moving to the left. I adjusted dead zones to help a little but honestly it’s just a patch, and not even one that worked well.

Honestly, it’s kind of on me, it’s taken quite a few falls. I’ll have to see about sending it in. If not, then there’s a fancy new steam controller on the horizon that hopefully is within my budget.

Because of said Stick Drift I stopped in the theater. I’m gonna try and adjust the dead zone a little more to make it more tolerable, so we’ll see if I can do that or if I should start looking into my warranty.

Discord has announced that it will begin requiring government-issued ID or face scans for use of large parts of its platform, extending beyond its original compliance with UK ID Verification Law and various Online Safety Acts around the world. What we found disturbing was what seems to be Discord's strange web of connections, including links to the UK Government via partners, links to Peter Thiel and Palantir (and even Epstein) via venture capital-funded identity verification services, and Discord's prior partner data breaches leading to concerns of the application's ability to protect its users. This all comes at a time when Discord is rumored to be preparing for an IPO, which would be an awfully good time for Discord to suddenly know a whole lot more about its users -- data that could be valuable for marketing or other disagreeable uses. At least as a positive, this has led to a rise of Discord alternatives.

Ive been part of the retro game corps (a silly little discord community) for a couple of years. Talking about Miyoo Mini Plus, other retro consoles, etc...etc... It was fun, but with the whole Discord age verification thing and Palantir...im out.

So I am looking for some gaming related discord alternatives.

I found the Retro Gaming Hub (invite here: https://stt.gg/n4gRxZP9 ) but im looking for more options. Where are you all hanging out at?

One way to get out of the video-game industry funk is to recognize that players aren’t spending $70 on most games

Today’s game is Animal Crossing New Horizons. My friends have been begging me to get a copy so I can play multiplayer with them. I finally caved. I refuse to spend anywhere near full price though for this game so I did some looking around and managed to find it going for a much more reasonable ~40$ USD in my area. Which is a great deal for me. Now I don’t have to borrow my friend’s digital copy and he can join me.

When my friend joined me, we were wearing the exact same clothes and the exact same eye and blush. He had to start over so this is all his starting stuff, so the coincidence that we both match is hilarious to us.

He kept getting disconnected though, which brings me to my first point. Maybe it’s my network, but this game has poor multiplayer as my friend keeps getting disconnected. We ended up only playing for around 40 minutes before lost him and we decided to quit.

I kept going for a bit, but I ended up fishing to max out Blather’s tent. Honestly, I forgot Blathers was even there. I had put him there like a month ago when I was borrowing my friend’s copy. But I check in and wander around for a bit before accidentally entering Blather’s tent.

Anyways. I gave him like 5 fish and saved. It didn’t feel like there was much else for me to do except wait. I didn’t want to time travel so I guess I’ll pop in tomorrow and see how things are doing with him.

Anybody have any games they really liked on a first play through and then fell out of love with it later on? I'm going through it right now with the city builder game Workers and Resources. I've got 26 hours in it on Steam. Most of those hours came years ago when I first tried the game. I had a good grasp of it then naturally hopped off it when something else caught my eye. Every time I try it now I just can't get past how janky it is. It truly is Eurojank the city builder game.

My biggest issue is relearning the build order. Set up a village, import some power, setup water, build a bus depot. I think I've got all the boxes checked off for what I'm supposed to do but nothing happens. Busses take no workers to the coal plant. Everything is still on warning that I'm missing resources. Then I get into the weeds and can't find what's wrong. I give up. This is the last few times I tried the game. I'm prone to jumping off a game if it's too complex but knowing I used to have this one down and it's all different now has me really souring on it.

That's the shame of it. I know I liked the game at one point but there's been too much time between first seriously getting to know the game and it's systems and now. It's the probably the only city builder I've ever played that's not a pick up and play type game. This is my genre of choice going back to SC2000. This one stings.

Anybody else have anything like this happen to them?

Today's game is Morrowind. I wanted to try mixing things up a little and had gotten this last december so i decided to dick around for a bit in it. I ended up being a little surprised by how much i enjoyed all the reading it needs. I mean, don't get me wrong. It's incredibly tedious and annoying sometimes, but it comes with satisfaction upon finding your way around with the journal and having to navigate in an almost realistic manner.

I ended up reusing my Daggerfall character Nazita for it, even though with the timeline it doesn't really work timeline wise. I made her a Rogue, though i'm not a fan of daggers so i've been training the longsword skill so i can use those instead in combat.

Speaking of the combat, I can't say i'm a fan. Maybe there's something i'm missing but it's definitely a lacking point of it. I just find myself jabbing at the enemies until either one of us drop dead.

Graphically though? I find it to be really pretty. I really like the water especially. I'm not sure what comes from OpenMW and what comes from base Morrowind, bur at a core level i think it's pretty.

I ended up just walking all the way to Gnisis to join the Empire and got the quest where you have too get the land deed. I ended up just stopping there though after heading into the mine and then turning back. I thought i had to go there to handle the Land deed morally, but apparently not.

Overall i think if i have to pick an Elderscrolls game that's got overwhelming depth to it while still controlling a little weirdly, i'd have to pick Daggerfall. I still think Morrowind has a lot going on for it that i love but i think i prefer how Daggerfall looks, plays, and sounds.

Hello guys, I wanted to announced that I finally released my demo for The Milgram Experiment. One of the inspirations of the game is the book Obedience to Authority by the same scientist. Other big inspirations are Papers, Please; Pools; Sublimnal and the show Severance.

I grew up and still live in Eastern Europe and here we have experience and past with authority and authoritarianism. I mean look at our oppressive architecture: photo (imgur link) I took yesterday while walking my dog. I guess the subject has always interested me... "While do good people follow evil orders?"

The game tests if you obey orders and how does your moral compass work (if at all). I invite you try it and give me feedback. Hope you love it!

Hello, I'm a new player of Souls-like games. My first game is Elden Ring, but some people say that it is difficult for new players. So, I'm looking for mods to make Elden Ring easier. Do you have any recommendations, or do I not need mods?
