A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

AI "art" is prone to nonsensical hallucinations with people gaining extra fingers, background elements bleeding together, and everything just looking uncanny. It's technically possible that you could train yourself to try and imitate this "style", but it would be both incredibly difficult to learn, and also be incredibly unrewarding- even putting aside having to prove you did, in fact, make said piece of art, it would still be as ugly as the AI stuff no one likes anyway.

Jesus said he would return stealthily, and nobody would know when. Therefore, if any of those people who keep predicting the time of the Second Coming get it right, then by their own theology they will delay it.

Since cats all act the same no matter the culture of the person filing the video, the message is easy to understand.

Person speaking a Slavic language presenting the news and a cat photobombs. Yup, we all know that feeling, embarrassment.

A person saying nothing and laying in their bed while their cat demands something. Oh ya, annoyance.

Someone speaking an African dialect when a cat walks into their house. We all know the cat lives there now.

Someone speaking an Asian language and building something before a cat destroys it. We all now that means defeat.

Truly, cat videos are an international language.

Here's how it should have gone:

  • People start to believe the Qanon BS, and likely was spread as a primer to shift the blame away from the "right wing" figures in the network.
  • Epstein's compromat on Bill Clinton leaks mysteriously.
  • Clinton gets jailed, then he either would have been forced to admit not only his actual crimes, but everything Epstein did, or gets mysteriously suicided in his cell.
  • Epstein leaves the "left", becomes a hard right conservative.

What likely happened is that the friendship between Trump and Epstein have broken down at one point, and then...

When you move your awareness from one thing to another. For example : from thoughts about lunch, to the feeling of your right hand, to the sound of traffic outside.

You perceive a change, right? Your whole perceived universe changes. Which would be science-fictionally amazing is it wasn't so common.

And if you hold your awareness on a thing for a while because you're really into it. A movie or a girl or a videogame. You obsessively focus on that for a while. You noticed how that affects you, your consciousness and such.

So those are common awareness-related phenomena that we can talk about. And meditation-related too. Huge and shockingly scifi if they weren't so common.

This is overlap between the perspectives of people who meditate and people who don't. And we can agree that these phenomena are a big deal.

So, how does that make you feel?

Thinking about how on poly market of setting up bets on nuclear war, or nuclear exchange. If you think it won't happen you bet no, but if you yes and win then most likely the venue will get destroyed and you won't get your payout or money you get will be worthless... Guess that adds another layer of betting. Assuming guarantee money would be worthless it would effectively mean losing.

Despite the inherent parley, seems like the person setting up the bet wanted to get the money of the people that bet on nuclear war happening

For most of us it's only right, natural and sane to conform and submit.

Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009) is really just the story of a sentient race of genocidal fanatically religious sexbots that want to make babies with their human johns.
