Hey folks. I'm trying to find a crack for AnyDVD HD. I've been using MakeMKV for iDoISO, which works well, but I'll need to start removing region coding from ISOs. It'd also be nice to look into some of the other features it has. All of the "cracks" I could find on software sites are literally just the trial versions. (...And I'd rather not pay over $100 for one thing lol)

Alternatively, if anyone knows how to edit it manually or any other software (free or cracked) that has this support (and on UHD), that works too. Thank you all in advance :)

(also yes this is a new account, ignore the fact that i can't upload an avatar lmao)

I tried to update the banner image on a community, and now thee image is just gone, and cannot be replaced.

This error pops up: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

Is this a fmhy problem or a lemmy problem?

Browsing new or Hot and seeing 15 posts in a row to /imaginarytanks, /imaginarycars, /imaginaryaviation, etc. got old the 2nd time I've seen it. I've had to resort to blocking the communities and bot that's just spamming for content.

DeDRM Readium epub (lemmy.fmhy.ml)

Hey community

I found a really nice app that provides ebooks, but they are DRM protected by Readium. I've installed it in an Android Emulator and inspected the traffic so that's how I've found out it's Readium.

I found this project [1] but I think I need a decryption passphrase which I don't know how to get it. I can show relevant requests made by the app if someone could help me.

I would like to be able to remove the DRM from these books so I can share them on zlib.

Any help is much appreciated.

Defederation Policy (lemmy.fmhy.ml)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by nbats@lemmy.fmhy.ml to c/freemediaheckyeah@lemmy.fmhy.ml

What is Defederation?

Defederation means we have disconnected our instance from another, and users from our instance will no longer be able to see anything (communities, posts or comments) coming from it, and their users won't be able to see anything coming from ours.

What will get an Instance Defederated?

Our goal is to avoid defederation, but we will do so under the following circumstances:

  • The instance spreads overwhelming amounts of drama, hate or negativity.

  • The instance is mostly made up bots, and or promotes spam.

  • The instance allows the harassment or doxxing of others.

  • The instance knowingly hosts CSAM or other illegal content.

Has FMHY Defederated Instances?

Only two, both for breaking the 1st rule above:

  • exploding-heads

  • lemmygrad

Things to Note:

  • There are circumstances where we may block a specific community within an instance, rather than blocking the entire instance itself, but this is very uncommon.

  • Remember that if there's a community you don't like, you can block it entirely in settings.

  • Keep in mind that our goal is to keep this community safe, so if you see something that breaks our rules please don't hesitate to report it.

  • If its something urgent, you can always contact us easily via Divolt ๐Ÿ’ฌ. Its connected to our discord, so there are mods online 24/7.

This post explains the incident well but long story short some hackers were able to compromise user and admin accounts through stolen authentication cookies on some instances.

Before things were clear on exactly how this happened, we pulled the plug on our instance to mitigate the risk. We probabaly should have hastily wrote an announcment post before doing that but the situation seemed critical so we didn't want to waste any time.

Few hours later, people were able to figure out the issue and promptly fix it. Turns out this vulnerabilty could only be exploited if an instance had custom emojis which thankfully ours didn't, so users using this instance should be safe from the hack. lemmy.fmhy.ml now runs on v18.2rc which has fixed this vuln to be extra secure.

Sorry for the downtime and we will try to communicate the problem better in the future.

P.S. After somone mentioned exploding-heads on a recent post and why we are still federated with it, we took some time to view it carefully and decided it's an instance that systematically breaks our rules and to defederate with it. We will shortly post our defederation policy soon to give a better idea on how we will decide on which instance to defederate from moving forward.

Our instance is only defederated from one other instance and it's lemmygrad. My question is why? It doesn't seem like a hate group or anything as far as I can tell. Can someone fill me in?

I hope I posted this to the right place; still getting used to how lemmy works. If I should post elsewhere, let me know.

I explained the situation to the poster where I told him that antiwork posts take too much space on the front page of our instance. Posts from antiwork shouldn't now take too much space unless more people start posting at which point it will be impossible to slow down sublemmy and it will settle down on the front page permamently lol.

I just wanted to clarify that before I get any complaints. Have a great day guys.

Is it a known instance issue that images for icons/banners are not working? I'm sorry if this is a wrong community for this.

Getting the well known error SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'R', "Request er"... is not valid JSON.

Zion Huang just released InnerTune 0.5.0, a free and open source YouTube Music client. The download throttling of the previous versions was finally fixed, making InnerTune now a pretty solid alternative to Spotify and YTM Premium.

I am the creator of the zoro auto-focus userscript, which unfortunately is no longer functioning. I don't know shit about coding, so I don't even know how the script even worked in the first place. Essentially, I condensed the 9anime bingwatcher+ script as much as possible. I believe the script worked by automatically clicking on an element of the video player repeatedly to get the focus on the video player. The script doesn't work anymore because of the change in the server (video player).

Im honestly scared to get into pirating but some things are just way too overpriced. i know theres the piract bay and such sites but it requires torrecting and a vpn but i cant afford a vpn so is there like a direct downloads version of the pirete bay or a safer alternative? im looking to get a few peices of media by the way.

also how do you all store so much media without issues or getting into trouble? also am i aksing the wrong place by chance?

i know there is internet archive but i find it hard to find what you are looking for and kinda clunky.

Announcement post: https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/695504 Github release page: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/releases/tag/0.18.1

This version had some major backend optimizations, so lemmy now uses much less resources and should feel a whole lot more snappier. I also compiled a list of some more noticeable changes that have come with this version:

Features

  • Captchas are added back.
  • When you delete your comment, they are now permanently deleted from the database after 30 days (used to be just hidden before).
  • Federated posts with sensitive images are not cached on local instance if not allowed by the local site. This means such images won't be stored on local servers and would instead rely on image URL.
  • More sorting options for your feed (with some more like 'best' coming in future updates)
  • Community sorting options in community tab.
  • Retain Scroll Position of Home Feed when going back.
  • Searching for a community for the first time on an instance now gives result much faster.
  • Body posts text limit increased from 10k to 50k characters.
  • When hovering, most buttons now show a focus border.
  • If image size you're trying to upload is more than the allowed size on the instance, it now shows the proper reason of upload failure.

UI

  • Base font size slightly decreased and better use of horizontal space for the home page, making overall UI feel much better.
  • Themes are now added to lemmy, including litely-compact and darkly-compact for people who like their feeds more compact.
  • Body Preview is removed from posts on home feed (there's now a button to expand a post).
  • Only child comments now have colored borders.
  • OP, mod and admin tags are now more prominent on comments.
  • Private message and Create Post UX improved.

Fixes

  • Kbin federation is now better so more posts from there should be visible
  • Subscribe and Block button were sometimes not clickable on first load. This has been fixed.
  • Upvoting sometimes caused the page to scroll to previous comment, this has been fixed.
  • Video Embeds now work the same as other content.
  • Search request being called twice on search page.
  • Images no longer auto collapse when they were expanded and upvoted.
  • Avatars aspect ratios fixed (no longer smooshed).
  • A 300 comment limit is now imposed on posts to prevent a vulnerability abuse. This is temporary until the vulnerability is fixed.

This is also a good time to ask how people are feeling about the instance, and if you have any suggestions on things that can be improved. And once again, if you encounter any bugs after the update, please write them in the comments so we can fix them.

Piracy, in todayโ€™s context of unauthorized sharing of digital content, is wrongly condemned as immoral theft. However, it is not piracy itself that is immoral. Rather, it is the greed-driven laws and practices that censor knowledge and creative works to maximize profits. At its core, piracy is about sharing information and creative works with others, which should be seen as a moral good. ๐Ÿค‘

hey

So I just joined the lemmy host, pretty cool here so far, do have some complaints like the need for NSFW & it's rules but I don't really care and love this community to wanna fight over

Anyways, I've contributed to the project in the past. Mainly with the Daz Pirate project (Pirated Daz pro with pirated essentials) & the 'Computers Offline' project (A web scrape of virtual web OS, e.g. Windows 93)

I'm very busy IRL, but I was thinking about some new projects that can improve FMHY. However I have no idea what way I can contribute, if you have any cool idea that could improve the FMHY project, let me know :)

The site: https://lemmyverse.net/communities

To see kbin "magazines" (that's how subreddits/communities are called on kbin) you have to switch to displaying them in top right corner:

Or you can just open this link: https://lemmyverse.net/kbin/magazines?order=followers

And to go back to displaying lemmy communities you have to press on "communities" in the middle on the top of the site:

I'd like to set something up for my Kobo Libra 2 that puts together a site where I collect my reading list (good reads, storygraph, bookwyrm) then downloads those books to a local server ( readarr?). Then makes them available for my Kobo( calibre web?).

Was curious if anybody has any guides or a better way to set all that up. I really like the sites for browsing new recommendations, but it's a manual process to get the books to my ereader. I'd like to surf and add books to my own 'store' I could access from my Kobo.

I tried to subscribe to https://kbin.social/m/food, but it says there's no posts. When I view it from that link, or from lemmy.world, it shows many posts. Why can't I see them on lemmy.fmhy.ml?

Also happens with https://kbin.social/m/futurology
