Hi guys, I apologise if this seems obvious but I can’t work it out. How do I defederate an instance I don’t want to see posts from in my feed, if the server is still permitted on my instance? I don’t want to block all federation, just from specific servers.

Thanks!

I can help: say for example, you want to block lemmygrad.ml - go to kbin.social/d/lemmygrad.ml (d for "domain") and from there you can block the whole instance (click on the 🚫).

Does that mean I can "defederate" without it affecting others? If so, that's cool.

Yes, that’s right. But I feel that we shouldn’t call this “defederate”. It’s really just you blocking that magazine/community. (De)federation is at a largest scale than just your user, dealing with the interaction between instances. As I write that out I realize it might not matter and is just me trying to be super specific. 😭
