Late Stage Capitalism

5 No bigotry, no racism, sexism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any type of prejudice.
6 Be civil in comments and no accusations of being a bot, 'paid by Putin,' etc.

Right. So yes, if immigrants take the lowest paying jobs, then the average citizen wage will seem higher because the lowest wages were removed from the pool. That's how average work. I don't think it somehow means the immigrants are causing a wage increase.
It's not just removal of low paying jobs, it's creation of higher paying jobs; that's why employment also improves. As the article explains, the "somehow" is that immigrants also increase the demand for goods and services.
