-
Always be civil and respectful

Don't be a bigot
No form of bigotry will be tolerated. -
Don't post security compromising suggestions
If you do, include an obvious and clear warning. -
Don't post conspiracy theories
Especially ones about nefarious intentions or funding. If you're concerned: Ask. Please don’t fuel conspiracy thinking here. Don’t try to spread FUD, especially against reliable privacy-enhancing software. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Show credible sources. -
Don't accuse others of shilling
Send honest concerns to the moderators and/or admins, and we will investigate. -

Half the point of asking questions in a public sub is so that everyone can benefit from the answers—which is impossible if you go deleting everything behind yourself once you've gotten yours.
@TheTwelveYearOld@lemmy.world I'm not sure I have understood what the partnership is about? Is #Ecosia now a default search engine on #firefox or what? I'm kinda confused
Mozilla can't survive that unless they found some other source to replace the 80% of their revenue that comes from Google.
Yes, that's why I'm confused about this announcement, I'm pretty sure Ecosia was already an option as a search engine, so I wasn't sure what it entails
It's not bundled by default (at least not in in the US). Could be they start doing that. Currently users would need to go to the site and add it after installing FF.
Ooh, okay, that must be it then, thanks for info
