I'm in my early 50's and I stay healthy and slim, so no worries. But if this is all so terrible, can't the dems just win the next election and overturn everything if Trumps plans turn out so bad?

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

guess the democrats should try to do something about it then, instead of just mocking and making fun of conservatives.

How did that mocking workout for you all in the last election? lmao

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There was no mocking last election, not from me. I was fighting for rights to healthcare and housing for you as well as me even though I'm healthy and already own a home. The mocking started when people were so hell bent on owning the libs that Shitler was put back in power with his billionaire cronies to rob us all in broad daylight and there was nothing else I could do. I did my civic duty but I felt those who voted for Trump wanted more revenge than a healthy America no matter how you define healthy. So I protest, call my representatives, and if there's anything left in the tank at the end of the day I point out facts to those delirious enough to wish me harm. I'll be fine, I'll survive Trump. But my survival isn't enough in my book. Besides, I'd rather we thrive which is not happening.

There was no mocking last election, not from me

That's good to hear. But the majority of Lemmy sure as fuck was mocking conservatives and piling onto people who would't vote for Harris--even if they were voting third party.

I know that just in my dealings with many on Lemmy, I will never ever vote Democrat.

And you, yourself, have been pretty pissy about stuff with me in particular. Not exactly a great way to try to sway me over to your side of the fence.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Promising healthcare, housing, a UBI, a union job, and taxes on those who could afford it to pay for it all wasn't winning a certain class of people over. When honey doesn't work, you get vinegar instead.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So it seems Democrats made a mistake in how they marketed their product. Do you think they have learned from their recent failure?

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They're licking their wounds and having their heads spun by a new brutalist, machete-instead-of-scalpel type of politics that nobody was ready for. A new democrat party that I can get behind will probably only have one person from "the old guard": Bernie Sanders. And he's not perfect either, I wish he supported nuclear energy. Truth is, if we have another election, I hope there are zero hold overs on both sides of the aisle and we start from an entirely different place.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Make no mistake, I think you have been a dick to me. Non-stop dick, by the way.

But I like Bernie Sanders and would have voted for him. We're not as different as you think.

I AM glad the democrats, and especially Lemmy, got their ass handed to them. I AM loving the destruction because I think it all need to be burnt down and start from scratch. Because you all fucking deserved it.

And that includes you. Go back over some of the dick things you have said to me and about me the last few weeks.

But hey, I'd ride the Bernie Train. And the democrats totally fucked him over just to put Hillary on the ticket and they have ignored him since then. I wish he'd go third party and kick everyones ass.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have no regrets. Being a dick will continue as long as you or anybody else cheer for unconstitutional assholes hollowing out our country for profit and lying to our faces that it's a good thing. My health insurance expenses have increased 1700% directly from a single Republican vote to uncap the cost of insulin from $35, now it's just over $600 for the same drug that costs a few dollars per bottle to make. But for my wife I would do anything.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Being a dick will continue as long as you or anybody else cheer for unconstitutional assholes

Which is why I will always cheer for them. Because people like you need to realize that your holier-than-thou attitudes need to come down a few notches.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

That sounds like you want revenge more than a healthy America.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah, but I do like watching it. You all deserve it for your attitudes.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Celebrating other Americans' suffering isn't patriotism, it's spite. I brought up real consequences. That's not about "attitudes" or "holier-than-thou", it's about survival. If you're cheering for fellow citizens to struggle because you dislike their politics, maybe ask yourself what values you're actually defending. I'd rather focus on solutions that help all Americans than watch anyone "get what they deserve."

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But what americans are "suffering" because Trump is president?!

Lots of fellow citizens struggle regardless of who's president. To blame it on one president is underplaying all of that.

I’d rather focus on solutions that help all Americans than watch anyone “get what they deserve.”

Then stop being a dick to people who happen to have different political ideas than you do.

But you shove your head so far up your ass I doubt you care about any of this. Go ahead, call it "not suffering" like our country isn't sliding into a fascist coup. Is he hurting the right people in your book? Are we getting what we deserve in exchange for his appeasement? Bootlicker.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You call that "suffering" though? That's fucking life, bruh.

What about all the people that were "suffering" when Biden was president? lol

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Whataboutism.

None of it was necessary. Its cruelty for the sake of cruelty. None of this administrations' declared priorities line up with their actions. DOGE is ending successful efficiency teams and projects telling us they're saving billions when instead they're aligning us with our enemies, the dictators of the world that our leader so desperately idolizes. Never has America removed the rights from an existing protected class until this administration. We're removing fluoride from the water, canceling important flu vaccine meetings, and blatantly shitting on the first amendment by blackmailing colleges with protests.

But it doesn't impact you so everything is fine. "I got mine" right?

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't see anyone "suffering" any more from Trump than they did under Biden. You just don't like Trump. lol

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"I want Americans to 'get what they deserve' because I think they have an attitude" is some serious next level snowflake shit

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, it's not THAT snowflake since Trump won after all. So I guess it worked. Which is awesome.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Who's in office doesn't make you less of a snowflake

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You are the one crying about it. I'm fine with Trump being in office. You sound like the snowflake.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Alright then, back to pointing out the flaws in the shitty party you backed because "Fuck other Americans"

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, that's what you all get for being assholes. Which you seem to be proud of, so yeah, I am very happy about it.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Now you've crossed a line, you're uninvited from Thanksgiving

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well somehow I feel your Thanksgiving would be about how much you hate republicans, so...

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, we enjoy having a good time. The likes of you don't come up in civil conversations.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Meh, I actually think the likes of me come up in lots of your conversations.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Finally somebody would think about you? Hold on to that feeling before you become a cranky old traitor... Well, more cranky at least.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh I have plenty of people in my life, so no worries about that. And you know what? They all like Trump. :)

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Echo chamber. Explains a lot.

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, Lemmy is an echo-chamber. And you are desperate to keep it that way.

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"I'm being silenced!" he posted publicly

[–] donaldjmusk@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It does sound like you are trying to silence people

[–] PapaSkwat@lemy.lol 1 points 1 week ago

Then what am I supposed to do for fun?
