Hilarious. Conned by the brits. Nothing in return.

He's getting desperate to find a way to back down without looking like he backed down.

I love that Xi is holding his feet to the fire and I'm thrilled to see how that pans out. The Chinese are much better equipped to weather whatever storm Trump can stir up.

This. The Chinese people are able (if not willing) to put up with a much lower standard of living than even the most hillbilly MAGAs are willing to tolerate, because an authoritarian government like China doesn't have to care what its people want. Trump will get nothing out of this "deal" and if we're incredibly lucky, their government will be satisfied with humiliating Trump and going back to the status quo. It's a big propaganda win for them.
