I was pretty into flying back when whoops were new but stopped for financial reasons. Recently, friend got his license and I caught the bug again watching his videos.

Got this Mobula7 and have been having a blast. My old box headset has an awful receiver but I got a crazy deal on some Fat Sharks that should be here soon.

I also just moved to a place much better for flying - I can fly to a park without passing any private property.

I've been binging Joshua Bardwell's videos and, of course, already thinking about what I want to buy next. Thinking about a monitor or a second cheap headset for other people to watch.

I haven't geeked out this much on a new (or rediscovered) hobby in awhile and instead of spamming my friend, I decided to post here and maybe get this community going.

Anyone else on Lemmy into quadcopters/FPV?

Dude please watch your fingernails when changing propellers! Just yesterday I broke a cable exactly where it goes to the motor :(

I love my mobula7 way more than I should. Perfect for tricks around the yard and playground.

Funny you should mention that...When I was waiting for my new one, I was messing with my old whoop and got a ton of dog fur stuck under a prop

I had so much trouble removing it, I splurged on a Prop Popper.

I really don't remember it being such a pain but it sure was!

Omg the fluffy MaineCoon cat fur… I remember my first excursion under the couch. That little whoop was indistinguishable from a mouse… 🐁

Such a pain lol

I can't say if the prop puller was worth it yet but I have a feeling I'll be patting myself on the back for the foresight whenever I have to remove a prop for the first time. At least brushless motors don't break as easily!
